We stayed here for one night en route to Riberac. The Host was very welcoming - and welcomed us with charm to his delightful property. We stayed in a large garden room within the delightfully tended gardens. Our room was very large with an equally large wet room set in beautiful grounds opposite the pond. The breakfast was of very good quality. We would have liked to have ventured into the large swimming pool area - but the weather at the time was not on our side. We would fully recommend this Chambre d'hotes. More

Sixty miles north of Bordeaux close to the coast lies the peaceful village of St. Sornin, with its old stone houses, splendid Romanesque church, and the renowned B&B known as La Caussoliere. I visited this elegant guesthouse twice in 2009. The luxurious rooms are huge and affordable ($100 - $140 for a double), set in three buildings surrounded by an acre of lush gardens with a large swimming pool area. For memorable holidays, stay a while at La Caussoliere and sink your teeth into this part of "La Belle France."
