We upgraded the room and it had all the facilities we needed and it was very quiet. The air conditioning was excellent and silent. The food in the main restaurant was delicious and impeccably served. The pianist was excellent and the ambience old world.
From our first to last moment at this hotel, every single staff member met us with extreme competence and brilliant smiles. Where else could we feel so at home? As we said to the general manager, money can build beautiful buildings anywhere, but the people working there are what makes the difference. Our room was excellent and well maintained. A walk through the beautiful gardens took us to an infinity pool. Staff quickly found appropriate seatings and arranged towels and umbrellas for each guest. Bar service to the pool was frequent and precise. One could also choose to eat at the pool restaurant which offers the same menu - food choices were innovative and well suited to the hot days of July. Our favourite friendly server was Romen who served with a smile and friendly anecdotes. He made us feel valued. At breakfast, in the dining room, the hostess, Alina, was a friendly and accommodating start to our meal. The breakfast area was usually supervised by Sandra whom we called the Duchess because of her elegance and suave service. Rose was our daily server for coffee and juice and is the most delightful young lady. Bina was also a server who made us feel at home. Food service included absolutely amazing baked goods along with the traditional breakfast fare (and fantastic fresh squeezed orange juice). The breakfast chef, Domenic Zammit, supervised with great attention to details. His skills are clearly superior. Breakfast here was always an anticipated wonderful start to our day. The lounge is a well appointed, pretty meeting spot with excellent bar service, thank you Ivan. One could not enter or leave the hotel without the doormen/porters hurrying to open doors and give a friendly greeting. A German intern and an American boy were exceptional in their roles. During our stay, the hotel offered a complimentary jazz evening in the garden which was a terrific surprise and a wonderful evening. This hotel is a stately building with a prime location. However, the staff is what raises this place to the next level. From the general manager to the concierge, the room attendants to the porters, the spa staff to the front desk, everyone seemed to love their jobs and connecting with the guests. After our seven planned nights, we simply were not ready to leave and this is thanks to how much the wonderful staff of the Phoenicia made us feel at home.…
We recently stayed at The Phoenicia Hotel the hotel and staff simply amazing. Definitely a luxury treat. We were fortunate to have a view from our balcony of the famous Triton Fountain and the Harbour. The Bastion Pool with the Infinity Pool so relaxing and great food on the terrace. The Club Bar had such a range of drinks and the staff were so knowledgeable ! It was lovely to have pre dinner drinks and of course a triple before winding down. Booked immediately for next year! The staff could not be more helpful and a special mention to Neville.
Stayed here for a short break last weeks it was a Hotel which my wife had wanted to stay at for many years. The Hotel exceeded our expectations- the staff were wonderful and very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was also excellent with great turn down service and all amenities. Location is excellent, right outside Valletta city walls and only a short walk away from the City Centre. The pool and gardens were excellent and the pool service was second to none.
We normally stay at the Westin Dragonora in St Julian’s which is a really good hotel but The Phoenicia is a class above ! Location is excellent - one minute from the ancient walls of Valletta so within walking distance of Valletta’s bars and restaurants. The service is 1st class from reception to restaurants to cleaning staff. The hotel interior and exterior are unbeatable - renovated to extremely high standard with modern twists throughout yet retaining its grandeur ! The gardens and pool area are on another level - the infinity pool spotless and with fabulous views ! Food and drinks excellent with all staff attentive and friendly and very professional in their approach Could not have chosen a better hotel in Malta and will return
This hotel is excellent in every way, the location, the building, the food, the infinity pool, service etc but I would particularly like to mention the staff, who were, without exception, wonderful. We met many of them in the course of our visit, from the managers to all levels, and they all demonstrated the same friendliness and eagerness to help. Nothing was too much trouble. I broke a tooth while I was there and the hotel immediately organised a visit to an excellent dentist where my tooth was repaired within hours. Congratulations to the management, their staff are witness to excellent training in customer service, it made our stay there a pleasure.
We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. First, the location is incredible, just steps from the entrance into Valletta. The grounds of the property are amazing. There is a beautiful garden you walk through to get to the pool area that has views of the Harbor and benches to relax. As for restaurants, the breakfast buffet was very big (and also popular with people not staying at the hotel), dinner at The Phoenix was delicious ( get the lobster spaghetti), and the pool bar and staff were A+. We would have eaten at the pool for lunch every day if it weren’t for the wasps that came out! Lastly, we loved the staff! The concierge was helpful booking cars and giving us tips, the bell hops were so quick and friendly ( we loved talking with them), and the hotel driver and his daughter were wonderful. We used them several times during our stay as they were so reliable and comfortable. We would absolutely come back and stay again. The hotel is definitely popular so the front desk may be busy at times. I also recommend a room with a view. We did not have one and wish we did, but otherwise the room was spectacular.…
What an amazing hotel!! We have just spent a week in this hotel and we're very sad to leave. Our room was large, comfortable and clean with a good view of the harbour. The nonalcoholic minibar was replenished daily and a little chocolate left in our bed at turn down. The breakfast offered a wide choice of hot and cold food, including fruit. The table service was impeccable. Thank you to those who started our day so well. All the staff was friendly and helpful at all times. We spent a couple of afternoons at the pool where there is a bar serving drinks and food. The staff not only serve you with a smile, but they also adjust the sun umbrellas to ensure you stay in the shade if that is what you want. The hotel is in an excellent position for exploring Valetta. Although there are a couple of nice restaurants in the hotel, we chose to eat in one of the many restaurants in Valetta where there was always a lively buzz. I would definitely recommend the Phoenicia.…
We stayed here for one week during September and were really impressed with the hotel. The staff were all very helpful. Breakfast on the terrace was a lovely experience. The hotel is situated just by the entrance to the city walls which was very convenient. We spent a few days around the pool and the service was pretty impressive. Once you arrive you are shown available seats and the staff regularly come and adjust the umbrella so that you have shade when required. We enjoyed the Mix and Mingle evening which is drinks in the Palm Court lounge and the chance to chat to other guests. I look forward to staying at this hotel again
Beautiful hotel!... Perfect location, just a few steps from Valletta entrance. Excellent service from the attentive staff. Very elegant and tasteful decor... Very nice room, with separate living room and balcony with great view. Will definitely go back to this hotel!
