My husband and I stayed in Casuarina Cottage early May. Upon arrival We were blown away by the views and location. Our cottage was very welcoming with pleasant decor and floor to ceiling window views of the water. We found everything to be very clean and well catered for. To our surprise there was split wood on the deck to light the fire which set the mood perfectly and made our cottage very cozy. The bed was very comfortable and the seating also very comfortable. We also enjoyed having a real coffee in the morning, with freshly grounded coffee beans supplied. We would highly recommend this property to couples, families or solo.
The vistas from Stringybark Cottage are stunning however paying $370 per night, mid week and not in peak season we feel everything should be fully functioning, spotless and if something isn't working it is attended to promptly. We stayed 2 nights mid week in April. On checking in we found there was no hot water in our ensuite. We contacted the owner who came straight way. He couldn't make the hot water work and kindly opened the second room so we could use this ensuite which the hotwater worked in. We were very appreciative of this however we discovered it hadn't been fully cleaned. That night we also found the floor lamp in the main living area near the dining table not working correctly. It flashed consistently when switched on, which meant we there was no soft lighting. The next morning we sent an sms message to the owner highlighting both concerns requesting they be attended to while we were out that day. On returning late that afternoon we found both issues had not been attended to. As we were checking out the next day we didn't see the point in following again. On checking out the next day we enquired if our sms message had been received. Initially and the owner initially said no. When we pulled up the message to check the number the owner found our message and advised us he was driving at the time. Being a mid week booking, not during peak season and having paid for what is presented as 5 star accomodation we feel everything should be meticulous and if there are genuine concerns these should be attended to promptly. Our stay at Limosa was meant to be a special treat and celebration however we left feeling very disappointed with our stay particulary as this is inconsistent with reviews from others who have stayed.…
My husband and I stayed here for a few days and loved it. So quiet and private which was amazing. The owner Lee was very communicative and helpful. The cottage itself was very clean and supplied with everything you could possibly need for a stay.
We stayed in the Stringy Bark. Quiet, great view, lots of creatures. The unit was very clean and had all of the items need for a good visit and self-catering. The Wi-Fi was very good. This is a great property for accessing Wilsons Prom.
The place is amazing - quite tastefully furnished and generally complete with everything you need. Very conveniently located for exploring Wilson's prom. Awesome views. Truly a luxurious stay. We didn't want to leave and will happily book again if we visit the area Not much to report on the negative side - dishwasher wasnt cleaning very well - which obviously meant some of the utensils / crockery wasnt in the most pristine state and needed to be cleaned before use. We tried to hand clean the dishes to leave what we used in a better state. Only other slight negative was that i had booked a 2 bedroom apartment via booking.com but somehow the reservation showed up at host's end as 1 bed apartment which wasn't sufficient for us. This may be more a feedback for booking.com. When we requested the hostess she kindly opened the 2nd bedroom for us…
An extremely comfortable and modern unit with the most outstanding views from all the floor to ceiling windows. Completely private with a furnished balcony but you don’t need to be outdoors to enjoy the sunrise to sunset views. There are new owners and we were warmly welcomed by Marcus. He showed us where everything was and then popped in once daily to check everything was going well. We love The Prom but also couldn’t wait to get back to Limosa Rise every day.
This was our 7th stop on our Oz road trip and we stayed for four nights in Stringy Bark luxury villa. The place had two bedrooms so would comfortably sleep four. Each has an ensuite. They are at either end of the villa, with the massive kitchen/dining area in the middle. All mod cons are provided and our splendid host, Lee, let us pick bok choy straight from her kitchen garden to go with our evening meal! The place is in the middle of nowhere, so it is necessary to drive to any attractions, but its tranquility is one of the reasons we picked it. Sadly, because of the bush fires the park was closed for the whole of our stay, so we had to drive to walks etc elsewhere. One small drawback to an otherwise wonderful place - although there were chairs and a small coffee table on the narrow deck, there was nowhere to eat outside. Lee told us she was aware of this and was planning to extend the decking area of the villas to include a outside eating area. Then it would be perfect! But while we were able to enjoy our morning coffee and evening glass of excellent ozzie plonk on the deck, watched by the visiting kangeroos and a great variety of birds. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.…
Beautiful views, across paddocks, bush and sea with the most exquisite sunsets. My husband and I stayed in the studio apartment. Is was comfortable and clean with all the amenities you need to feel at home for a few days. Lee the hostess was most welcoming and very friendly. The location was perfect, only a few minutes drive to Wilson Prom, where there are endless amount of beaches and hikes to explore. Loved it, definitely be back!
This is the most gorgeous place to stay and an excellent base from which to explore Wilsons Promontory. It takes about 20 mins to get to good walking places and is much better than staying at Tidal River which is crowded and noisy. The cottages are beautifully designed, private and have gorgeous views. They are very well equipped with everything you need to self cater. Come with all your food for your stay and also toiletries. Soap etc is not provided although everything else is.The general environment is very relaxing. I wish we had stayed more than 2 nights!
A few cottages with modern features and amazing views. Lovely lady has taken over management and nothing too much trouble. Wilson's Prom is the most amazing place with gorgeous coastline and walks (esp 4 beach walk). Stock up before you go as self catering, but good little convenience and bottle store 2km away
