Located on the east coast of Iceland, Faskruðsfjorður is celebrated for its majestic nature and beautiful scenery. Fosshotel Eastfjords operates in 4 historic buildings previously made for French fishermen in the years between 1898-1907. The most famous of them is the French hospital built in 1903. In 1939, the house was disassembled, moved and it became deserted for almost 50 years. In 2008, a decision was made to reassemble it at its original location. The hospital has 13 rooms of the total 47 rooms at the hotel. The Doctor's house, located across from the French hospital, hosts the reception and the Chapel, built in 1898, is beside the reception hosting 4 rooms.

Our second time at this hotel, really nice and relaxing stay. Beautiful hotel in a short distance form other towns in the East Fjords. The view from the hotel is amazing. We highly recommend to stay here!

The bartender made us feel like royalty, from putting the KC Chiefs on the big screen, to his wine and food selections, and continually checking on us to see if he could do anything else for us. AMAZING customer service!

Perfectly located to enjoy the beauty of the East Fiords. Big rooms with stunning views and an amazing restaurant worth visiting on its own. The only thing I can mention is that we missed the northern lights because we weren't warned at the reception desk the day of our arrival. They told us the day after that there had been activity and that it was expected for that night too. That worked better in other Fosshotel locations. Other than that, great experience. Hoping to go back soon.

Thanks Herrero for the great review :) Sometimes there is no indication of Northern Lights in the forecast (yes, there is a forecast for it at vedur .is) and in that case we don´t want to disturb people´s sleep upfront by telling them about very slight possibilities of seeing aurora boralis. The activity levels has indeed been very low in this area (1-2 on the scale to 10) for quite some time now. But I am glad to see you didn´t miss out on them elsewhere. Hope we see you again soon :)
