Covid certainly made our experience different, but a room was perfect, very clean.
Breakfast to go for early departure (we went to golf) was good enough, and on our second day we had a breakfast as we wished.
We really liked our experience in town Skalica and the choice of the hotel for golf Penati was perfect .(20 minutes away) .Golf Skalica is just near a hotel and we played there on our first day.

Reception is friendly but not very fast, and not very selfconfident. The roomes are ok, clean and quited but the TV system needs to be updated to 2012. Bathroom is small and clean.
The Hotel seems to be very modern. Unfortunally there are not aircon in the room. Difficult in Summer time.
Breakfast, here I have to say it is very poor. Not a 4 Star Hotel.

We are a company with offices in more than 29 countries all over the world. When we deliver our yearly International convention it is very important for us that we deliver it in facilities that have TOP standards. This year we have delivered it in Slovakia, in hotel Sv. Ludmila. We were really satisfied with staff attitude and how extremely service oriented and professional they all are. Whenever we had some problem, they immediately came with a solution - from handling the mix-up of the rooms to handling the special meals demands for specific dieting people. This kind of attitude is hard to find when you organize seminars and conventions in hotels. And we have seen lots of hotels and have quite some experiences with different people. Staff of this hotel gives an excellent example of how guests should be treated.According to our survey that we did with our attendees, the hotel and the services got the highest marks and all of them were very satisfied with your services. By the majority of attendees it was also labeled as the best convention ever, that was partially thanks to the excellent job and contribution of the hotel`s staff.
Surrounding of the hotel is great, it is close to the center but not in the busy area which was very nice. Historical center is very beautiful and the walks there from the hotel were very nice. Also hotel can advise you some sightseeing in the area.
I can only recommend it :-)

Had to stay overnicht due to some business issues around. Hotel room was nice, clean in some kind of country style. Staff was helpful and always friendly. Did not see a great deal of the offerings like the spa or so. Will stay there again.

It is not a standart hotel. Isolated in park and garden of roses, with small spa and large (mediocre) restaurant. Very good service with little english knowledge, but with big efforts to understand. Close to the vineyard zone of Skalica and to the golf with very good steakhouse. Good breakfast. Try liver pate with semidry prosecco.

I stayed one night here on a business trip. During my short stay I can say that the room was nice, cozy and very clean, and there was a small fridge with drinks too.
The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean too, with good water pressure.
The breakfast was good, but didn't impress. Maybe 4.5 out of 5.
The personnel was friendly.
I understand the hotel features a spa with energetic therapy, something new age.
There is also a new rose garden where you can take a stroll.

Slovakia is a synonymn for hospitality and the same can be said about Hotel sv. Ludmila. The staff there is really great, starting from ladies at reception to waitress at the restaurant.
Also the hotel is purely great. Free parking, pleasantly spacious rooms, very well furbished and equiped. Really great.
The breakfast is tasty, however to 5* there's something missing.
Except this, there was only downturn in our stay - not working air-con. Together with the breakfast, that's the reason of missing 5 stars. But overall, I would recommend you to come there and see.
Oh, and don't forget to visit the lovely Garden of Roses.

Had an overnight stay here during a business trip and found it to be very pleasant. The rooms are a nice size and the beds are comfortable. Shower is good. The TV even has a few English language channels.
All the staff I encountered were very pleasant.
The restaurant is excellent. I had a great dinner at a very reasonable price. Cheap (by UK standadrs) Czech beer.
Free WiFi with good connection speed
Everything you need for a brief visit.

I came to Skalica for a transnational project meeting and this hotel was one of the organisers' tip. The booking was fast and without problems. The outside and lobby are really suitable for a 4-star hotel and the staff was nice and professional. Standard single-room was clean and spacious. I didn't try internet connection but it seemed there was no wifi (only a attachable cable).
For the bathroom, there were one bigger towel and two small ones. Unlike in many other hotels of this category, any shower gels or soaps were missing. You have to use soap in the container in the shower stall. In my case, it was empty (or non-functioning) and only loosely attached so it fell down after trying to press it. The shower stall's floor was cracked on several places).
I didn't try heating or AC (or a bar). Bed was comfortable enough and a lot of space in the wardrobe. The TV was rather old and not in a good technical condition (it slightly whistled all the time which was really annoying afted a few minutes). The programmes choice was rather satisfying for the modest Slovak, Czech and maybe Austrian or German-speaking people.
In the morning, the breakfast selection was only basic (i would say poor for the 4-star hotel) without anything to recommend.

The overall impression is only average. Nice, quiet surroundings and first-class (ostentatiously?) looking exterior and lobby. On the other hand, averagely equiped standard room and poor breakfast. It would be fully satisfactory for the lower-class hotel but with the (wannabe) 4-stars you expect more.

A luxury modern hotel resembling a castle is located in a quiet green area on the outskirts of Skalica, a small, but very nice city in the Western Slovakia with well preserved historic centre and known for its red wine and special cake called trdelnik. Rooms are comfortable (though free internet is available only via cable in rooms; free Wi-Fi is available in lobby/restaurant area) and - at least suites - with air conditioning. Hotel is unfortunately not located directly in the center, walk to the center takes ca. 15 minutes. There is a golf resort nearby and a wine cellar on the grounds of hotel. Hotel Patriot is probably one of the best options for stay in the region of Zahorie.
