First of all I would like to thank reception, (expecially Amanda) the owner and the staff who served the the meal at the wedding. Hotel has just changed hands so teething problems were to be expected, little things really, but added up. Such as a couple members of staff who it appeared to get annoyed when asked to do somthing, like a drink or even a coffee. Lack of basic things in bedrooms, tea coffee etc and in some cases a TV. Our wedding (two day event) I have to say was absolutely fantastic, from staff, food and service was incredible. wish we could do it again. I wish Renata and the staff all the best for the future and I will definitely be back next year. Mr & Mrs Law

Just back after spending 6 nights here for my sons wedding. The hotel itself has a variety of room types from suites to broom cupboards, all well furnished all be it most of the beds need replaced. It has just come under new management who are trying their best but the staff they have kept on are the single biggest problem they have. They seem to think serving the guests comes way down on their list of priorities and make you think you are asking them to do you a favour. You never know when the bars are open and on one occasion when they saw us coming they locked the door in our face even although there were still people drinking. The food is average, if you can get it and are willing yo wait for it and the breakfast buffet shrank by the day.Lucky for us the brides family supplied all the food and drink for the wedding so all the hotel had to do was serve it up and wash the dishes. Could be a great place to stay so lets hope the new owners get their act together and see where their main problems lie. There is a spa in the hotel but it was closed when we visited, no reason given.

I joined motorbike trip,organized by travel agency, route Sweden-Poland-Lithuania-Latvia- Estonia-Sweden.

The hotel was much better than I expected. We got nice room and bed was comfortable. Bathroom with shower only which I prefer. Breakfast was OK and during evening the bar served a variety of beers and drinks. Nice sitting outside, to the courtyard and another to the front. Prices are much lower than in big cities. If I would be around,another year, I would stay in Bartis.

I have just returned from a 5 night stay at Hotel Bartis...

First of all, i understand the staff cannot speak a whole lot of English, and our Polish is scratchy at best, I didn't expect to be chatting a whole lot. However, on various occasions the man serving on the bar was rude and at one point ran away from the groom as he was asking for a drink?!

He also slammed the bar door shut shouting "CLOSED!" Even though his friends were there drinking...

Reception staff were as helpful as can be given the language barrier.

Rooms - well. Room is a huge compliment to the small cupboard we were given. However we happened to pop into our families room and noticed their jacuzzi bath was bigger than our entire room. Another room had a lovely sofa and many windows. Some even had a shower you could turn around in...It was a pleasure to pay exactly the same for our hostel style room as my parents did for a hotel suite with balcony!

As far as I could tell it was never cleaned the entire time. No fresh sheets, one change of towels.

There is a kettle in the room - not sure what for as there are no tea or coffee facilities.

No air conditioning, so Windows constantly open - however this means you can't see the tv. Also means you will average 3 hours sleep unless you plan on going to bed around 5pm.Streets extremely noisy from very early in the morning!

We asked for a meal one evening and still hadn't been fed 2 hours later as "there was only one microwave" we shouldn't have bothered. Many of us ended up in the kebab shop!!

Very underwhelmed by the hotel and its staff, thank god we attended the wedding over the weekend as it was the only time we were fed and watered! And this was courtesy of the bride and groom!

Such a shame, has so much potential. But missing light bulbs, dirty toilets and building work doesn't make for the best review!

I don't want to write long but brief my observation during my 4 days stay;
1- Poor service and not educated staff at the reception.
2- Rooms furnisher belongs to a hotel in my head the 70's.
3- Towels are so old, almost worn out.
4- Poor service and cleaning of the rooms.
5- Bed sheets were torn and worn out with holes! Yes HOLES!
6- Breakfast food is moved on from one morning to another. Visibly dry vegetables and cheese, etc..
The list can go on and on and on...
Bottom line;
NEVER EVER AGAIN.

Our stay in this hotel has probably been the worst hotel experience in Europe in the last 10 years

The whole place is being run on a shoe string, in the lobby all the lights were out, in the restaurant most of the lights had blown and not changed, table cloths not changed. In the spa all but safety lighting was out, when we questioned we were told "we have to keep them off due to costs"

Staff were all different and no knowledge or catering experience

Breakfast, 4 cereals and bread and some polish meats, we asked for toast and we're told "sorry the toaster is broken"

Corridors to rooms had every other light out and could not be fixed. Room itself was ok, but bedding only replaced every 5 days!!!! That was a first!

It is such a shame as the location is great, the restaurant food was actually pretty ok (apart from the service), the place was clean, the pool and spa were good - but the budget is just too low even accepting we were in low season.

2 stars at best, management should be fired and the place had no atmosphere

A loud, loud party on a Friday night from 8 pm to 5 am just below the hotel rooms? Oh yes, this "entrepreneur" loves cash and has no empathy or sanity to care for his hotel guests who cannot sleep a single minute right above the dancfloor. We were not warned, paid full price and weren't apologised to... speechless. Avoid at all costs!!!

Average three star hotel – not bad not particularly good – available at attractive discounted price. I spent there two nights paying 99 zlotys (EUR23)/night for a single with breakfast, which I found as good value for what they deliver.
The hotel is located in the center of Bartoszyce, right at main old town square. Although overall this location is very good, when I was there the town's main square was undergoing some long-lasting major reconstruction. So there was some noise from construction works and - which was worse – to reach the hotel, you need to walk on the sand. It seems that this reconstruction would continue for a good few months at least.
Some website say this hotel has swimming pool and wellness area. But this is closed now – it fact it has been closed for nearly two years already, I was told.
The room was ok – clean and bigger than average. Breakfast was average but ok. Overall nothing exciting but reasonable choice for short-term stay in the area – particularly at their prices.

Each room is different. Staff was very helpful. Location is great. Breakfast was lovely. The perfect place to stay when construction is finished in the town square. Awakened each morning by backhoes replacing the drainage system in the main square, but this is not the hotel's fault. Hopefully the heavy work will be finished soon.
