I cannot tell you about the actual stay in the hotel because my friends and I were not able to stay there. We tried to check in with our confirmation code around ~6pm after finishing our day of hiking, but when we arrived we were informed they had overbooked us. They offered to show us to a hostel nearby also owned by the same person. My friends and I drove to Tayrona in a car so a man on a motorcycle said he would guide us to the hostel. We turn down a very steep road and we approach a shallow river. The man proceeds to tell us that we have to cross the shallow river to get hotel. We were in my friend's brand new car and we did not want to take the risk. We were NEVER told at the hotel inside the park that this would be the case. We ended up driving back to Santa Marta and booking a last minute Airbnb. This was absolutely unacceptable.

We stayed here for 1 night on a visit to Tayrona. The hostel is located inside the park, about a 10 minute walk from the El Zaino entrance. (It is about a 45 minute walk from the hotel to the start of the trailhead ). We had a private room on the 2nd floor and it felt like we were staying in a tree house. Room was very clean and had a bug net in good repair. Room was open, so we could hear the sounds of nature all night. The host was so sweet. We really enjoyed talking to her. She made dinner for us that was fresh cooked and made sure to have vegetarian food for me. Hostel was super reasonably priced and highly convenient. We didn't have electricity in our room. The room had a shared bathroom that was downstairs but this was no problem. There was wifi that worked intermittently. If you need to get ahold of the hostel, they seem to respond to their whatsapp. Accommodation is basic. Would highly recommend!

This hotel is very close to the front entrance, but about a 30-45 min walk from the parking lot and the beginning of the boardwalk. There is a bus that comes approximately every 15 min for 3000 COP but they generally don’t leave until they are full so could be a challenge to get a ride to the head of the trail. Antonio has a motorcycle and offered to take you by bike though. Amenities are very basic. Rooms on the ground floor have a private bathroom but it is not enclosed so you should be comfortable with whoever is sharing your room. Relatively no water pressure and cold water only - my husband showered outside in the rain for a better shower. Electricity at night but the outlet in our room didn’t work. And make sure to keep your bags zipped and shake out your clothing prior to leaving as guests of the eight-legged type can easily get in the room. The hosts are what made the stay worth it. Fresh meals based on what you order - they take your order in the morning and then go buy what they need for that night. We ordered fish both nights and the meals were completely different. Amazing home cooked food made the stay even more personal. Cocktails are delicious and most are made with fresh fruit - no beer though as they don’t have a refrigerator. If you’re looking to practice your Spanish, the hosts are happy to sit around and socialize, and their energy is infectious. I even got the chance to learn first hand how to make patacones. The next morning a group of us learned how to make arepas. If you’re on a honeymoon and are looking for a quiet oasis, then I would suggest looking elsewhere. But if you want a more cultural experience with interactive hosts and a laid back atmosphere, then this is a great place. Make sure to have back up cash as their credit card machine isn’t always working and there isn’t an option to leave a tip - sadly we were not able to leave a gratuity for the chef to show our appreciation.

This hotel is a 15 minute walk inside the park entrance so you have to pay the park entrance to get there. It is great if you are staying more than one day in the park though. The rooms are pretty simple and expensive for what you get but the whole park is expensive. The host is such a delight. She gave us lots of information and was super friendly. The breakfasts and suppers are delicious. There are hammocks and chairs where you can sit and listen to the birds and the monkeys. There is a trail across the street from the hotel. Twice we saw monkeys on the trail. It is a peaceful place in a park that is a bit crowded.

A very simple but clean and comfortable accommodation near the park entrance. Shared bathroom and no electricity in the room, but phones can be recharged in the kitchen area by solar energy where WiFi is offered. Antonio and Jenny offer a very good and tasty breakfast and dinner. Definitely a recommended place to stay during a visit in Tayrona.
