My wife and I stayed 2 nights in Kibo and it was great! The picture perfect views of the Kilimanjaro and the accommodations of the rooms were terrific. But, the best thing about Kibo is the people. They had this anniversary celebration dance for my wife and I with a a delicious cake. Totally recommended.

It's a pretty nice place to stay. Booked through another travel agent. Had a comfortable stay for 3 of us. Buffet spread is great. Camp fire was good. Hotel has a beautiful view of Mt.Kilimanjaro. we did have a massage session which was not great. Saw elephants up close from the gate. Even location of camp is just outside the park.

We were here for 2 days. Interesting experience in large tented accommodation with thatched roof over the top. Comfortable and all facilities, hot showers etc., Only complaint here is there were about 9 very dim lights when 6 brighter lights would have been far more useful. Drop anything on the floor and you needed a torch. On the subject of torches you need one in the evenings to get to and from the main building and restaurant. Buffet type meals - not brilliant but ok. But what really was annoying was that we had to invariably wait 10/15/20 minutes for a table to come free and then try to get to it before someone else did. That is not acceptable and staff assistance in this respect was non-existent - it was effectively everyone for themselves. It seems common sense that if ,as seems the case, Kibo Camp has been expanding its accommodation to take advantage of its popularity, it should also have increased the size of its restaurant at the same time, but it so obviously has not. Would we stay here again ? Kibo Camp has a lot going for it but for us it is too big and impersonal. Sometimes bigger doesn't mean better.

Do not visit the Masai Village at Amboseli! When you visit Amboseli your guide is likely to suggest a visit to see the proud Masai and their traditional way of life. It sounded good to us and we happily paid $100 for our family of four. On arrival, there was a welcome dance with both men and women, and a tour of their homes, fire starting and compound. If the tour had ended there, we would have been happy. It was not the proud warriors dressed in red that we expected and there were no high jumping competitions, but it was still OK. The problem was the non violent mugging that occurred after that. There was the expectation that you would buy in the market and you were forced to walk around the loop of sellers with all the women /girls desperately trying to sell you beaded bracelets and bowls, grabbing you, pushing items into your hands. We felt threatened and that there was no way to leave without buying grossly overpriced trinkets. After that, we went to the school where we were again surrounded by Masai and asked for a donation to the school. Horrible. If you just want to see them dance, they will be at kibo camp that night and will again be asking for money. Kibo camp itself was wondeful. Luxurious tents - our family had a two bedroom with a king and two singles - two bathrooms. Good mosquito netting. Soap and shampoo provided. Lovely pool. The buffet for every meal was amazing with lots of selection in hot meat, veg, pasta;salads, soup and dessert. Loved the camp and safari.

I loved this camp, the rooms are so gorgeous, like little wooden lodges. The pool is lovely too, the food was amazing. You can also see the Milky Way at night and they light a fire. The camp benefits from a monkey population which comes in and amuses the guests.
