Had lunch here. Food very basic home style cooking. Not bad not great. Venue is beautiful and service is good. Chef or manager is very attentive and we all hope that they will have more customers in the future.

Went for a special family dinner and had the 5-course meal. The soup was ok. The mushrooms - love the idea of battering them in tempura batter, but they were raw inside. Next came a small bowl of pasta. I did wonder if it was a packet mix. But the real lowlight was the fish and chips. The fish tasted...

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. We took a small boat to cruise on the river and I would recommend this, so peaceful. The only downside is the gravel road to get there.

Great location...terrible service...lousy food...dispirited staff...rigid and unhelpful management...attempt to price gouge for any extras (tried to charge us R300 to share a birthday cake at dinner, and we were on a fixed price 5 course menu!) AVOID!!

Without being a natural complainer or one to write these reviews as I understand that some people are very hard to please, I feel obligated to share my experiences at this establishment. The management attitude was unfriendly and hostile, as if they had much better things to do and my groups presence was interfering with something better they had to...

Everything you need, for a short stay getaway, off the beaten track. We loved the beautiful garden in front of the reception area, gives it a homely atmosphere. We had a bit of a shocker, with housekeeping entering without knocking..... Don't know who had wider eyes, myself naked, getting dressed, or the cleaning lady....

One night only, thank goodness!First sign to greet you, tired dusty and dated reception desk.Abruptly advised we were too early to check in!Room was supposed to be a superior room, but was a small compact basic room with old outdated furniture, although it was clean enough. Food was a mixture and confusion of dishes, nothing was prepared fresh, it was horrible...

I loved this place. Very peaceful and friendly. I read a few of the bad reviews, and frankly I don't even understand what these people are talking about. The Malagas Hotel is not a luxury establishment, but they have clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a very nice common sitting area overlooking the Breede River. With your stay, you...

Beautiful food both New Years Eve and New Years day. Service was wonderful, friendly and professional. We are a group of 8-12 friends who go somewhere every year. We usually stay 2 nights over new years. We were 8 people this time, and had a lovely, relaxing and memorable time. Our last visit, we were a little disappointed with the...
