I booked this hotel through an online booking agent in April for stay in June. Agent confirmed booking two days prior to travel and my credit card debited. On arrival we were met with overgrown gardens and the hotel closed. We then discovered that the hotel closed in January three months before I booked. We are elderly travellers and arrived early evening. Luckily the driver waited while we quickly found alternative accommodation. The booking agents need to be more responsible for checking before confirming with the guest. There is no way in this case that it could possibly be confirmed when it had been shutdown for the past 5 months. I am now lodging a dispute to get my money back.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.... IT IS CLOSED. We booked for a 3 night stay to arrive for check in today (14 april) and the hotel is closed and looks like it has for sometime. There was nobody around, we had no confirmation that the hotel was no longer in business and had to find an emergency hotel, luckily for us lovina was quiet so we go somewhere quick.....

The place was wonderful, it has a big area. It's close with beach, great swimming pool and great some Balinese things. Also talking about the price, I got big room with bathtub, hot shower, big bed size, air-con worked well, wifi worked well and close with beach. I just pay less than US$30, so cheap and get a great breakfast including tea, juice, fruits and fried rice for 1 night with my lovely partner.I have no idea why people say this place is dead or bankrupt, actually, i know that this place is quite looks old and need more maintenance, but I can say I love this place with the facility provided.

I have stayed at least once a year at Sunari for about 14 years. It's sad to see it now so run down and decrepit. Word around town is that it's 'bankrup', although that could mean pretty much anything. The grounds are run down, the driveway is full of potholes, and clearly there is no building maintenance going on. Positives: the room was clean, the aircon worked, and with the exception of tea and coffee (none provided) everything was as per usual. the staff were their usual happy and helpful selves. Negatives: generally run-down air of the place. Breakfast only in the restaurant; no lunch or dinner because the kitchen didn't have any groceries. I hate to say it, but I agree with some of the other reviews on this site that the place is on its last legs. A pity, because I've enjoyed staying here over the years.
