I visited this hotel based on good reviews and felt very confused when I got there because it’s not a place I would recommend. Though price is low, I don’t think it’s a good value for price. PROS: it’s on the beach, bed is comfortable with feather pillows and owner was very nice CONS: beach is not nice for swimming - looks dirty and sand not made for walking, very isolated location but amenities/food at hotel not good enough to stay isolated on hotel premises, food is very very bland (I tried six different dishes, and staff often appeared bored and unpleasant (for instance, in the corner chatting and reluctantly doing work). For me, deal breaker was food, it was pretty bad, cooked by someone who probably don’t care to make it delicious. Finally, room and property might have been nice at one point but it is now old and rusted.

Villa Agung has been updated many times and the only rust she saw was the sea barrier we erected against the high waves. This guest stayed one night, ate all of 6 meals and then complained because she couldn't get a warung (local stall) to deliver to the hotel! The beach is cleaned every day and local restaurants are about 50m away.

A friend recommended Villa Agung to me a few years ago and within a day or two of enjoying the peace and tranquility, I knew I’d found my happy place. Since then, I’ve returned for a three week stay every six months. The hotel is on the seafront and it's the perfect place to enjoy the amazing sunsets, sea breezes or watching the fishing boats I'm not a fan of large impersonal hotels, preferring the more intimate feel that small hotel’s offer. Being a small hotel, Villa Agung has nine nicely presented rooms, comfortable beds and also family rooms. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The ocean side restaurant is lovely and on the floor above is a perfect place to read or simply relax or gaze at the water. I’ve eaten most of my meals at Villa Agung and found the food delicious and freshly cooked, plus they make their own pasta and bake their own bread. I can highly recommend Villa Agung

If you are looking for a Marriott City Centre Villa Agung isn’t that. Instead,if you like a beautiful and relaxing waterfront villa-like small hotel then don’t miss out on this place. The staff is fantastic. The food is great!!! The pool is delightful. And the prices are very very reasonable. No TV’s which at first disappointed me but I did not miss it for a minute. Get out of the hustle and bustle of Kuta and Nusa Dua and get out to the country in Lovina. Definitely the best part of my trip to Bali!!!

Happy to have you stay with us and thanks for all the good remarks. Most people these days have their digital preferences and many parents dont want their kids watching TV all the time. Good parenting! Hope to see you again.

Listed are the pros and cons: Pros : Excellent location. Right by the beach. Good looking place. Cons: Average room. Small in size and basic amenities. Food was strictly ok. Lovina beach itself is a black sand beach. People flock here for the dolphin watch. Of which we had an awesome experience.
