Putu, Eka and everyone at Damai made this the classiest and most remarkable part of the Bali stay. The place is tranquil and you feel this is exactly how far from the rush of city life you want to be. Next time come to stay a week.
Wonderful service, estetic and exotic. Great view and very good service. The Foodmarket was fantastic. Very good combination of fusion cuisine. Posibility of treatments. Great pool area, and comfortable rooms
A romantic and peaceful getaway when you need a quiet time. Amazing gardens and beautifully decorated rooms with Balinese antiques, beautiful details and very comfortable luxury. the staff offers a superb level of service. The gourmet restaurant combining Balinese traditions with a western gourmet attitude is interesting and very exclusive. I had an amazing spa experience with Eka who is a well trained therapist and yogateacher. BEst treatment I have had in Bali. _ and I have had a few ;-) !
My girlfriend and I stayed in a pool villa for 9 days in January and was taken aback by everything the resort has to offer: The heart-warm staff that is going out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The delicious food that I still crave months after. The stunning beauty of the room, the view, and the resort. We also enjoyed the best massages. We will definitely come back again!
We stayed as a family of three for a week at the Damai and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were lucky enough to have a Pool villa for the majority of the week which made all the difference, the view from the infinity pool was absolutely amazing! The staff really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome and look after your every need! While we really enjoyed our time at the Damai we felt that a week in Lavinia is too long. The only criticisms we had of the hotel were the prices for food were expensive to say the least! We don’t doubt the quality of the produce but the prices are of a five star European hotel. For this reason we ate out every night. The flys can be a real annoyance while eating breakfast. Not the hotels fault but really were a pain. A gym/fitness room was really missed.…
Stayed at Damai for 3 nights and wish we had longer. The villa was outstanding in modern Bali style. The open doors to pool and deck made the villa feel even bigger than it was. The hotel service was outstanding as was the food. A shuttle service can take you to Lovina (about 10 mins) and you can arrange pick up also. Can’t fault this place at all. An absolute gem!!
My girlfriend and I stayed for a 6 nights in November - what we found was a peaceful, quiet oasis of calm and tranquility away from the busier, more touristy parts of Bali. The location is a little out of the way, and the hotel can organise an airport transfer from Denpasar. What you will find is a beautifully designed, stylish boutique hotel that is feels authentically Bali but at the same time, something different and unique. The restaurant is a level above anything you will find on the island. Our villa was clean, comfortable with every detail perfectly designed from the private outdoor showers that make you feel like you're showering under a waterfall surrounded by plants to the wonderfully luxurious bed linen. Just wandering round the grounds of the hotel will help relieve the stresses and strains of every day life but if you're still feeling a little tense after the flight then definitely book a massage in the spa. Pretty much the best spa experience of my life. I would definitely bring a book or two as like us, you'll find yourself just relaxing by the pool most days, unless you book a tour or two to some of the surrounding areas. The hotel can arrange these for you and anything else you feel like doing. Such attentive, friendly and helpful staff made our stay so much more pleasurable and from the moment you wake up to the end of the day, they are on hand to help and assist. Highly recommended. And if you're not convinced, just take a look at some of the photos on social media!…
Stayed 4 nights in a luxurious pool villa and loved every second of it. The villa, the hotel grounds, the restaurant and the staff — superb! There is a real sense of authenticity over the whole place with lots of lovely little touches. No doubt we’ll be returning to this gem! The hotel is a bit further away that most hotels but it really isn’t a bad journey at all in the nice hotel car and it is certainly worth the drive.
I genuinely cannot rate this place more highly. We were here two years ago and decided this year that we wanted to go to Bali purely to come and stay again at The Damai. It’s a beautiful place, well run and isn’t huge which allows you to really feel like you are getting away from it all and being taken care of in unique surroundings. Having stayed at quite a few places in Bali, the Damai strikes a really good balance of being a luxury hotel but doing it in a very authentic Balinese way. The architecture and little touches of services feel very well considered and appropriate to the region it’s in. The staff are probably one of the main things that I have to credit the Damai for as well as the food which is great. Rooms are also great. This time we chose to stay in a pool villa which was decadent but with stunning views from our own private pool, it felt like we had our own slice of paradise. Last time we stayed in one of the garden villas which was also nice but the pool does give you you that extra sense of privacy. Location wise it is in Lovina, so a bit of a trek (3hrs from Denpasar airport/2.5 from Seminyak) but I think it’s worth it for something that feels less commercialised and the scenery around there feels more “real” Bali. Also importantly your money goes further there so staying at the top villas is the same a “standard” one in one of the luxury resorts in the south. …
Incredible boutique hotel in the hills with exceptional service, design, atmosphere and glorious food! There's not enough superlatives to describe this place. I've stayed in some awesome luxury hotels, including Allila Uluwatu, but this one has taken out top place in my books. We had a family pool villa (2 bed) - it was super private with awesome views, and filled with interesting artefacts, felt like staying in an art collectors luxury house. Also extremely comfortable beds. But the best thing about this place is the service - every single staff member was kind, discreet, lovely - not just great at their job but doing it with heart like they really care. Amazing attention to detail everywhere, the whole place has a wonderful atmosphere of sophistication combined with humility and character. The food had mindblowing moments, and so different to other food we'd had in Bali. The Damai gin and tonic with their house made tonic is incredible - should be famous. Delicious abundant breakfasts including their freshly made bread. We loved every minute and I am already plotting how I can return. Yes a bit expensive but worth every cent.…
