Very simply Changa is superb. My writing ability will not do this destination justice but I will do my best. We spent three nights in Changa in March 2023. Getting to the camp is a bit of an ordeal, however a new airline starts scheduled flights to Kariba from Harare and Victoria Falls this year which will make getting there a lot easier. We chose to take our own boat across the lake but the camp also offers a lake transfer service. If eco-tourism, or getting in touch with nature is your thing, but you don’t want to give up the luxury touches, then you must add Changa to the top of your bucket list. The camp is tucked away in a Mopani forest on the edge of the lake, and almost invisible from offshore. Once you get into the camp it’s extent become more apparent. Wooden walkways connect luxury accommodation under canvas with a central area of bar, dining area and swimming pool. All built in a most environmentally sensitive style. All manner of wildlife passes through the camp, from Elephant down to the adorable family of bush babies that have made Changa home. This is an all inclusive destination. The staff are amazing and you can do all manner of activities including game drives (5 o n 3 days for us), game walks, fishing trips, or just lie by the pool and unwind. Finally the Chef deserves special mention. Amazing food and more of it than you could ever eat. And served in a different place every night including one night on the beach under the stars. I could go on and on. But I will Simply say “go to Changa. You will not regret it”.…
If you are looking for a luxury safari in an eco friendly lodge then this place should not be missed. Sandy and her team were fantastic and Gadreck our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and great fun. We were spoilt with wildlife including a siting of a small pride of lions, plenty of elephants and herds of antelope, Zebra and many other small mammals. If you're into birding you will not be disappointed as there is everything to see from fisheagles to bee eaters. The tents are brilliant with an amazing outdoor bathroom as well as an indoor shower for the less adventurous. The food is great, the service impecable and the lodge and setting is indescribably beautiful. I would definitely recommend "Changa" to anyone looking to experience the wild in an environmentally friendly luxury lodge. Top notch.…
Stunning accommodation, happy and helpful staff, high end cuisine, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides, cocktails to die for. This team runs so well with great management. Thankyou, we will be back.
If you want to be right in the bush but also have the lake close by, then this is THE place to go. The whole stay was so very good that i could say almost faultless. All staff were fantastic at their jobs. With such friendliness and humour and knowledge. Food was incredible and more than ample. The swimming pool was a welcomed blessing in the October heat and always remained very cool and refreshing. I would highly recommend Changa to anyone. I give it 5 stars. Although i wouldn't like to have taken small children. It's wild.

Amazing relaxing stay. The Staff were always smiling and so friendly as usual and made us feel at home. Luke and Jaison's cocktails were delicious, and the food was really enjoyable. Thank you for a relaxing few days
You will never tire of this place. This was our fifth visit to Changa and I just want to keep on coming back. I cannot fault it. The staff are wonderful, the accommodation is amazing, (specially the outdoor bathroom), delicious food , spectacular pool with views and knowledgeable guides to take you on game drives and fishing or booze cruising. If you have never been to Changa you need to put it on your bucket list. See you next year and thank you for another fantastic stay.
Changa was like another world. It is located on the shores of beautiful Lake Kariba and the camp itself was very well designed. The rooms, food and game viewing were all fantastic but I would say the highlight was the staff team. They were kind, friendly and went out of their way to make our holiday such a memorable one. Thank you!
- Elephants relaxing so close to your tent that you cannot open your side door, - Hippos laughing and grazing next to your bed, - incredible game drives with pleasant and knowledgably guides, - candle light dinner on the beach or in the bush around the camp, - with the most delicious food, - a team always smiling and helpful, - an infinity pool looking over the lake in the middle of the bush, - a camp designed to fit into nature without disturbing it, - tents set-up beautifully with so much love for details in their design, always clean, with big comfortable beds looking over the lake - what else do you need for a perfect holiday? We were lucky to visit Changa with our daughter under a year a few times due to overseas family coming to see Zimbabwe. The Changa team made our stay always special and our daughter amazingly good cared for. We would always come back to show and enjoy the camp! Nothing we ever missed.…
In July my family and I stayed at Changa. Christine and the entire camp staff were eager to make our time there memorable. They were accommodating and made all seven of us, ages 11 - 73, comfortable during our stay. The family tent accommodations were excellent - comfortable, clean and views to the lake that made you never want to sleep. The food was delicious and the chef was able to happily satisfy the vegan in our group. The team was so thoughtful to recognize my parent’s anniversary and mom’s birthday making them feel very special. The game drives and walks were unbelievable and we are still in awe of all that we saw. The boat trip to the Gorge was great fun with a sunset we will never forget. Every detail was covered - even coffee breaks out in the bush. We absolutely recommend this camp if you are heading to Zimbabwe!…
