For us (a family with two kids), the location was perfect. The resort is located on the beach with two nice and clean pools. The room was old and shabby and in need of renovation. The staff wasn’t very helpful when we asked for simple things, even though they at times were up to ten employees standing at the front desk. The breakfast was not very delicate.
We made a reservation for this resort, and were looking forward to our stay. Due to a problem with our creditcard the resort could not take the payment a week in advance and cancelled our booking. The problem was solved quickly, and we contacted the resort by mail and even telephone to tell the everything was alright and that we really wanted to stay with them. We offered to pay instantly the same amount as the reservation at Booking.com, including the part Booking.com normally contributes. In the end we received the answer that we could make a reservation directly to them, but for double the price. We were really disappointed by this kind of 'help'. Eventually we had a great stay in Railay, but absolutely not in this resort.
I visited this hotel 7-14 March 2022 and can definitely imagine visiting it again if I return to Railay Beach. Incredibly nice resort with a teeming greenery throughout the whole area. There were monkeys in the area that charmed all the guests with their fun games. The staff were nice and helpful and the hotel had small golf carts that you could get on if there was room. There were food stores and pharmacies available in the hotel area. The double deluxe room had everything one could wish for. Clean, nicely decorated and pretty large. Plenty of storage and a fresh bathroom. The pool was large but slightly smaller than in the pictures. It was cozy and you had a very nice view of the sea. However, the pool area lacked parasols, which is a big miss as the sun is very strong and people had to squeeze in when there was shadow. The beach was right in front of the hotel and I can’t find words about how amazing the view was and how nice the water was. Compact sandy bottom, fresh water, warm and above all clean. You could swim for hours. Kayaks and SUP were available for rent for a small fee. Minus: The breakfast was very boring for those who expect bread and cold cuts. A lot of sand came into the room and the floor got dirty quite quickly. The water pressure and temperature in the shower was quite bad. Highly recommend this place to just EVERYONE. A wonderful hotel that has the most perfect location on Railay Beach.…
The resort was situated right on Railay Beach and very close to the Railay Beach Walking Street shops and restaurants! Great location and easy to walk over to the incredible Panang Beach areas too! We had a Delux room on the ground floor next to the swimming pool in the remote area from the beach pool. Everything worked well, A/C, hot water and all the necessities were provided. The bed was so comfortable too! The breakfast buffet was ok and provided a satisfying selection of foods for most nationalities. The only problem we encountered was getting a boat back to Al Nang Beach. The resort could not assist us and we had to get a ride on our own.
The setting is perfect, and the rooms we had were excellent (pool villas) We liked it so much we visited twice in the same holiday. But a few things could be improved. There is a lot of unnecessary plastic pollution caused by the pointless practice of insisting guests use plastic gloves at breakfast. Ask them to wash hands or sanitize instead, Check the WHO guidance. It was sometimes difficult to communicate with front desk staff, the level of English was not what one would expect for this standard of hotel. Most staff were friendly and helpful, but one of the male front desk staff might need to brush up at charm school. you're dealing with tourists, and there's not a whole bunch of them right now (or at least not when we went because of Covid restrictions).
2 main problems: 1) I didn't have hot water in shower. 2) the A/C didn't worked most of the time. The reception team was not nice to me from the beginning even I was super nice and gentle all over the time in the hotel. They lied about capacity, when I wanted to move to another room because the problems I mentioned above they told they can't give another room and it was a lie, I saw in the apps they had another rooms, and they told me the only option I have is to upgrade the room to build for 5000 THB a night!!!! The most bad thing is they were racism to me maybe because I'm from Israel lol. There were more not nice things but o think it's enough.
We have spent 10 wonderful days at Railay Bay Resort & Spa - for the 2nd time! (We stayed here 2 Year’s ago also and wanted to return to this great place.) This hotel is simply the best on Railay (and has the majoritet of the guests here): + The location is perfect and close to everything (Walking Street, the stunning Phranang Beach, canoe rental etc. + It sits just on the beach, with a Beautiful swimmingpool just at the beach. From there you can enjoy fantastic sunsets. Restaurant & pool bar right there. + Rooms are nicely decorated and well kept. We have stayed in a terrific Jacuzzi villa (Privacy villa) both times we’ve been here and it fels like a home away from home. It has a beautiful private entrance, a little mini-pond and plants. It is all Walled-in, so you can bathe naked in the jacuzzi whenever you like. The first row of jacuzzi villas closest to the beach are numbered 6000– - . + There is a second big swimmingpool well suited for families with small children; The villas closest to that pool are numbered 9000- -. + The hotel can provide boat- and other transports to other Islands as well as to the airport of Krabi. We have been travelling throughout Thailand & Asia for the past 30 years and think this hotel and Beach has it all! The location between the gigantic limestone cliffs is stunning and very romantic. Easily accesible from Krabi Airport. We will come back a 3rd time!…
we got superb deal in agoda, but then saw mix review about this hotel to the point that we want to cancel a day before check in! Fortunately we didn’t do it as we have wonderful time in railay bay hotel! Staff is really helpful, we called them to book shuttle a day before and their very on time with great service. No debate that location is a prime, as its lay from west to the east, with amazing view of railay cliff & nice tropical rainforest garden! Buffet breakfast is amazing. Room is clean with nice balcony where we can see monkeys every morning. The only thing might improve is hot water is not always stable, but this is should not be big deal as outside is hot, so it gives refreshing shower!
From start to finish, this was a terrible experience, which I expected based on the reviews, but quite how they get things so bad, I don’t understand. They didn’t answer my messages to help me from the pier - I sent these three days before. No reply. So I ended up carrying cases along the beach. Check in was a disaster. I got there at 2pm and they said my room wasn’t ready. The guy on the counter was so rude to me (PS no one wears a name badge apart from the bell boys). I asked for a pool towel and they said no, because it’s in my room. I eventually got into my room at 4pm. Most of the afternoon wasted. The bar staff were fine - but slow at times and often just forgot orders. But nothing awful. The room however was so bad. Really tatty, dodgy AC, no hot water at all - literally the bare minimum I can deal with, but I survived. I would go back to Railay, but I would avoid this hotel big time. One tip - you can really easily get around in flat, safe passage ways all over Railay East and West. If I had known this before booking, I would have picked somewhere off the beach that is nicer. I just didn’t realise how easy it was to get around. The two stars are for the bell boys - they were great and the saving grace of a pretty horrendous stay.…
Railay West beach is a beautiful spot and the place to be in Railay. The sunsets are truly unforgettable. This « resort » is 3 star at best. Rooms were basic - with unpredictable shower temperature, room keys to control terrible AC unit. The service was also lacking- clearly not a priority for staff. Communication skills need much improvement . The food from the menu at the restaurant was excellent. The breakfast buffet was not. We did not spend much time in the room - so for location we were so very happy with the beach and the breathtaking views. Since this is a review of the hotel, much can be improved from a guest experience.
