Returned yesterday from a 10 day stay at Railay and had the most amazing time. The Bhu Nga Thani is in a perfect location, only a short walk with cases from the pier drop off by long boat. We booked the hotel transfer (costing about £20) which included airport meet and greet, tuk tuk to take cases to the waters edge and then short "long boat" trip to Railay. You could do it cheaper, but by arranging through the hotel, it was just nice and easy. The staff at the resort could not do anymore for us, it was my husbands 50th and my birthday whilst we were there and they made us feel very special on both days. Balloons, cake and creative towel folding!!!!

The room and amenities were spotless and well maintained. The pool bar was a great place to hang out especially around happy hour 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Great cocktails made by a friendly and knowledgeable bar man.

Railay is a fantastic unspoilt area (only accessible by boat), it has a bit of a hippy vibe to it and very laid back. The village is perfect for a wonderful meal followed by live music from one of the bars if you fancy it, or just chill on the beach and look at the stars.

We loved this place and will be returning again in a couple of years.

We spent 4 wonderful nights here and would love to go back someday. We had a reservation for 3 adults in one room and the staff had already made up a third bed for us upon our arrival, which we really appreciated.

We arrived by longboat to Railay West and were easily able to walk to the hotel from there. For our return trip, the staff booked our transportation all the way to the Phuket airport for a reasonable rate making life easy for us.

The pool area was really nice, as well as the swim up bar and restaurant. This was the first time I had ever seen an option to order food at a swim up bar. The breakfast buffet selection was great, and the main restaurant was also very nice for dinner.

The location was great, we were within an easy walking distance to beaches, restaurants, shopping, and laundry services. The sunset over the water was also definitely worth waking up early for!

My one suggestion would be to add a towel kiosk at the pool to make towel exchanges easier.

Overall, it was a great stay and I would love to go back!

My family and I stayed at the Bhu Nga Thani over New Years. It’s a beautiful hotel right at the east side of Railay beach. When we first checked in we weren’t thrilled because the manager kept talking with the staff and pointing at us and the staff member working with us kept coming over with reasons why we had to pay over and above what we already payed for the room. But each reason seemed concocted and we didn’t like that manager didn’t come over herself to explain why she thought we should pay extra but Instead was pointed at us from the front desk. However one we we got into the rooms we were happy because they were lovely. We stayed on the ground floor and had an outdoor showers which we loved. The grounds were lovely and had playful monkeys the kids enjoyed watching. The hotel threw a wonderful New Year’s Eve gala dinner and entertained us for 6 hours with an excellent show that included traditional Thai dances and fire shows. The food was good too. The manager and general manager kept sending us drinks because we were dancing. The hotel pool is much smaller than the pictures online make it seem. It’s about a 5 -10 minute walk to a beach with sand but we loved the walk. It seemed like one of the nicest hotels in the island and has beautiful limestone cliffs as a backdrop. The breakfast buffet wasn’t great but was decent enough. Overall I would recommend the hotel.

The hotel is not situated on the nice beaches, but it's only about ten minutes easy walk to both of the great looking beaches and because of its location you will get better value for money.

The rooms and pool and gardens have been kept in excellent condition considering they have few guests. I could not fault my room. It was big, very clean, smelled great, comfy bed, lots of hot water. The pool is absolutely lovely and plenty of sun beds and a great view of the cliffs towering behind.

All the staff I encountered were very friendly and very professional and anything you asked for they tried to provide. They were very helpful.

I would not rate the breakfast, very little choice, not great, BUT when I considered what I was paying I would not complain about the breakfast because overall it was still such great value for money.

The hotel made the transfer very easy from Krabi Airport.. The staff were very quick to respond to emails.

When I visited, the spa was closed and the restaurant closes at 2pm but this is not a problem as still plenty of places around to eat at.

I was really glad I chose Bhu Nga Thani resort. I am impressed with how well they have kept it and the helpfulness of staff.

We booked 4 nights and checked out after 1. Firstly this hotel is not a 4 star as advertised. The pool is tiny with not enough sun loungers to cater for a quarter of the hotel. The pool view is of old tyres and rubbish (pictures attached). The drinks are extremely expensive and awful, they advertise a pool bar happy hour which is basically 25 people waiting and 1 bar person serving. The entrance of the hotel is just pools of dirty stagnant water - nothing like the website. The beach is a 10 minute walk through a dirty smelly alley and the beach is ruined by tourism. The air-con broke in our room in the middle of the night and I nearly broke my neck slipping in the pool of water that had leaked from it, the staff weren’t interested in the danger it had caused.

And to top of off the hotel refused to refund the remaining three nights we didn’t stay as it was company policy. WTF! Not even half a refund offered 😡

Stayed at this hotel at the beginning of our wedding weekend and chose this as the prime accommodation for all our wedding guests. So glad we did too!

Great location if you're looking to get away from the day tourists that flock to railay.

The rooms are spacious and clean with nice balconies for sitting out. The top floor offers beautiful views of the sea and the limestone cliffs. The breakfast buffet offers plenty of variety which was great for the picky eaters.

The only negative is the general WIFI which can be spotty at times. But to be fair, why would you want to be on the internet for too long when you are staying here?

I definitely would stay here again !

This was our first time in Railay and we loved our stay at Bhu Nga Thani. We decided to splurge and get the pool villa, and it was well worth it.

The Room:
The room had a private entrance, was very spacious, and had a romantic tropical feel to it. Staff came every day while we were out to clean both the room and the pool. It was a lot of fun going night swimming there and hearing the frogs in the pond next to it croaking to each other (don't worry - the frogs never entered the pool).

The bed and pillows were comfortable, not hard or stiff at all, and it came with a very large bug net. I hate bugs and am very prone to mosquito bites so I slept peacefully knowing no bugs would be eating me in my sleep!

Water pressure and temperature in the shower were good, wi-fi connection in the room was good... Overall, an amazing room with kind staff and we would stay again!

The Food:
Breakfast was maybe the only downfall. There was not a large variety of items, but its saving grace was the live banana pancake (yum!) and egg station, plus it had a nice view looking out the ocean/mangroves.

We did go to the hotel pool and had a few frozen drinks at the bar. So delicious and the bartender manning the swim-up bar was soooo friendly, he was the best! It was a lot of fun hanging out there, swimming, and watching the monkeys jumping from tree to tree around the area. Just be sure to not leave your drinks or food out because they will come to eat anything left unattended. The great bartender/staff will come scare them away if needed though.

The Location:
As it was our first time there, I was worried about how far we had to walk because it is HOT in Thailand, but luckily as soon as you're off the pier, turn right and it's right there. Just a 5 minute walk. Very convenient! Plus, it's less crowded on this side of Railay and less noisy in our opinion.

Overall, Bhu Nga Thani met all expectations and we had a great time.

Stayed here for 2 nights as 4 adults. There was an offer on their website when booking so we booked the presidential villa with its own private pool - a little bit more expensive but so worth it. The villa was enormous, with the comfiest of beds and fantastic, hot showers. The private pool was great. The kitchen didn’t have any crockery/cutlery for cooking but we asked for a bowl to make some noodles and they happily obliged.

One thing to bear in mind is the hotel next door does have live music some evenings and if you want an early night it is loud! It didn’t bother us as we were in the pool and enjoyed the music.

Recommend leaving Ao Nang from Ao Nammao pier (quieter and no wading through the sea required) and you’ll then arrive on the east side of Railay and only have a minute walk to the hotel.

Whilst staying on Railay make the effort to get up early and go to the beach. We went between 8.30am and 10.30am when it was quiet - after that it gets insanely busy with day trippers. The evenings were reasonably quiet after about 5/6pm.

There’s a very chilled out vibe on the island. Lots of bars to buy weed but no pressure. We ate at Mangrove Restaurant (very tasty) and Railay Story (stick to ordering pizza and you’ll be pleased altho don’t expect a smile from the staff). Govindas is great for lunch (veggie/vegan) and altho we are meat eaters we had lunch here both days.

Overall a very decent stay. Particular positive would be the price (very fair pricing for the offering); the rooms (these were very large, well designed and the bathrooms were exceptional). The staff were also pretty accommodating and pleasant. On the negative side the breakfast offering was pretty dismal and the pool needed more regular sweeping/attention. The pool bar manager was very attentive and good with the customers.

We spent 6 nights at Bhu Nga. We arrived at Krabi airport and had hotel transfers prebooked. We were promptly picked up by a driver and taken to a pier 30mins away for our journey to our hotel by Long Tail boat, the only way our hotel was accessible. Check in was prompt and our room allocated soon afterwards. Hotel Room was fine and had all amenities required for our stay. Breakfast was not bad, although we did have the same breakfast options daily. Not many breakfast options for muslims. However upon request the chef did make us Fried Rice and Vegetarian Pasta couple of mornings to their credit. All staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The nicer beach is 6-7 mins away with lots of small eating places on the way to the beach. Also some spectacular fairly secluded beaches if you like swimming and snorkeling. Boat trips to other islands can be booked from this resort. All in all really enjoyed our stay. In hindsight 3-4 days are enough to visit. Regards. Shabir & Naseem

Hi Joby , there is no beach on BNT resort side. That side is mostly used for transportation and also covered with vegetation. You will have to walk for 5 minutes to go Railay west beach or 10 minutes to Ao Phra Nang beach. The both are beautiful beaches.
