A rather unconventional hotel. The hotel sits next to a racetrack and was once used primarily by the race car drivers or “pilots” as the French consider them. The hotel has a gated/guarded entrance and another motion sensor gate for departure. It’s a bit remote and you feel like you are in the mountains. The very natural, pleasant setting is great if you enjoy walks. The racing was going on while we were there and we could hear the cars from inside our room and sometimes even smell the exhaust. When the track was not being used, the hotel and grounds were quiet and pristine. The hotel has a nice pool and small golf course for guests to enjoy. We stayed in a small structure with a large room above and one below called a “Catalan House.” We could not hear sounds from the guests staying above us. There was a small terrace, table, and chairs outside our room so we could enjoy wine and snacks outside. Our room seemed dated though it was spacious. It was clean and we had two bathrooms. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The person(s) that cleaned our room were not consistent from day to day. One day, the person turned our air conditioning off, another day, we were given bottles of hair conditioner but no shampoo, and yet another day, no face towels were left for us. The front desk staff are friendly and responsive. We chose the hotel because of the restaurant and because it seemed fairly central to the region we wanted to explore. Not many American tourists here, so you certainly feel a bit more like you are vacationing in France.

a long time customer of all restaurants since the opening , including the 3 stars Michelin , i have had countless memorable lunch & dinner , casual or gastronomical . Perfect places , if you don't venture into the Spa , independently managed ; while the place is nice and the treatment professional , the billing is not , and on two consecutive occasions we had unpleasant experiences ; At the contrary ,the Boutique is very well managed & welcoming . A beautiful hotel nestled in the hills. Calm and relaxing environment with.attentive but unobtrusive staff. Guided tour by receptionist to introduce the facility was welcome. It is obvious that all the staff strive to deliver excellence and largely achieve it which is not common. Lovely pool and loungers. We did not use the spa so can.not comment on this. The gastronomic restaurant really is one of the best in the world. Each dish was a ravishing combination of flavours and textures with a lightness of execution that distinguishes the truly great Chefs. The patisserie was also extraordinary and it was a delight that both the Chef and patisserie chef come to the table to share their passion for the local produce of Provence

Ok we loved the lemon cake and the spaghetti bolognese but that was it… we really were disappointed by the room which were very overpriced, old, not well maintained, it was missing a frame, they were stains, the view was horrible.. and nearby the road which was doing a lot of constant noise. they put us in a room that communicates with another and the soundproof Is horrible we even could hear the guy next door using his spoon in his cafe and they were not noisy neighbor but we could hear them talk drink and eat… they wake us up in the morning only talking normally… for The indecent price we paid this is just unacceptable… and we had to complain in order to change the room and they finally put us in the main building and the soundproof was much better, view was much better… I don’t understand why we had to complain in order to be located in this room which was the same category… our first night was totally ruined and even the second room was too expensive for the value.

Everything was way too much overvalue especially the food… it was covid and we only could have in room dining, I don’t doubt the Michelin star is great but excuse me 50 euros for a club sandwich it is just crazy… and for 50 euros you only have two little sandwich where usually in 5 star hotels they give you at least 4 pieces… ok they were good but it was not a Michelin star sandwich… it was just a good one…

Even by the pool you hear a lot the tracks which is really annoying

Propriety is beautiful, pool is nice although cold…

If you have tons of money and are passionate by tracks this may place otherwise don’t go there

The hotel is located close to the famous circuit Paul Ricard. It is surrounded by a huge garden and has its own golf course. The rooms are spacious and well equipped- Mediterranean style. The staff is friendly and competent - an excellent experience. The 3 star restaurant Christoph Bacquié is top notch- a must have experience.

It is a place to rest and to retreat.

A blissful address, a beautiful view. Enjoy the peace and nature to the fullest. Delicious breakfast, good food. In short, worth repeating. Visit Cassis, a village nearby. A green nature area with playing facilities for the children.

I recently spent three nights at the Hotel du Castellet and could not have been more impressed. The location is outstanding, with sweeping vistas of the lawns and the valley surrounding the facility. Although the setting is very private and somewhat remote, there are several coastal towns as well as the medieval village of Le Castellet within easy driving distance. The maintenance and upkeep are impeccable. Our room was very spacious (it was the upgraded king room with a balcony), well-decorated and had every amenity you would expect at a luxury facility. In addition, they encourage lengthy visits by providing more drawer, shelf and hanging storage space than I've ever seen in a hotel room. The compartmentalized bath had a separate toilet area, oversized shower with a ceiling hung sprinkler type shower head, heated towel rack and hand showers in both the tub and shower areas. The staff could not have been more accommodating. Their recommendations for area restaurants were excellent. In addition, they arranged a tour and private wine tasting at one of the local wineries. Most importantly, everyone at the facility spoke fluent english. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and were very pleased with both the quality of the meal and the attentive service. In addition, there is a disco which features a state-of-the art integrated sound and lighting system. In my opinion, Hotel du Castellet rivals any Four Seasons resort. While the accommodations are indeed pricey, this is a prime example of getting what you pay for.

Everything went wrong from the start. I stayed for 4 nights in August at this supposedly 5 star hotel in their most luxurious, biggest suite (indeed, it was Suite 1!). I had organized an airport private car transfer to the hotel. They sent the driver to the wrong terminal and it took me 20 minutes on he phone with the concierge to convince him that the driver wasn't there and that I wasn't crazy (he kept saying "no sir he's there just look better"!). When they finally realized their error they tried to somehow blame it on the airline...pathetic. The suite was far from overstated. One minibar was completely missing (i.e. just not there with wires sticking out) and the other was almost completely empty....glad they told me upon check in that anything in the minibar was complimentary...2 diet cokes and 1 bottle of Evian! It was a struggle to get any of it replaced or refilled, each time. The staff, especially in the bar/lounge area was particularly unpleasant and displaying some unbearably obnoxious French attitude (one bartender simply wouldn't respond to greetings). The room service was beyond unacceptable, it was outright invasive. On several occasions they just barged into the suite despite the privacy sign being up: one time it was to make me sign a bill which they had forgotten to bring with the meal - even though I had asked the girl how come I don't need to sign anything and she said oh don't worry they probably already billed it - then she just walks into the room a while later with the bill in hand while I was in the shower totally ignoring the DO NOT DISTURB sign! And another time I had ordered a bottle of wine, which took 30 minutes to arrive by which time I was running late. So I tell the waiter to just leave it and that I will open it. I close the door and put the privacy sign on. I go to take a shower, and there he is barging into the room...to get the bottle opener! I tell him to leave it as I hadn't opened the bottle yet and by the time I can get to the living room he had disappeared...with the bottle opener! I catch up to him in the hallway and he tells me it is the bar's bottle opener and they need it. So that big pompous 5 star hotel only has one wine bottle opener. In my version of a 5 star hotel the suite would have had its own wine bottle opener...and otherwise if the guest asks for it to stay then it stays. And don't ask me why they seem to have a total disregard of the DO NOT DISTURB sign. Ridiculous, not even a 3 star would have done that. To top it off the suite was absurdly overpriced and they did not comp' me a single item to make up for their pile of mistakes.
I really don't see any reason to stay there unless you are in the mood for throwing a fortune away and being treated like a peasant.

Located in a forest of pine trees overlooking the Mediterranean sea at the distance and a stunning golf course to match The Hotel du Castellet is a very chic retreat in one of the most beautiful areas of France .
Rooms are traditional and elegant and the housekeeping is second to none .
Facilities range from golf to tennis and 2 gorgeous swimming pool ( one indoor and one outdoor heated).
Food in the main restaurant is actually amazing and the more casual brasserie also serves great dishes in a stetacular setting .
Why not 5 stars????? In my opinion this property should have better service by the pool . Is not easy to get service attention in the afternoon and the pool menu is restricted to 2 types of paninis . I truly believe that such amazing setting deserves a service to match at all times and the beautiful pool area should definitely have better all day menu to give this place a solid 5 stars status .
Would I go back ??? Absolutely YES . We had a very good stay overall.
