Whilst in Cape Town and telling people we were going to Inverdoorn, nobody had heard of it. They all knew of Aquila though. These people need to be educated on this fantastic reserve which is just under 3 hours drive away from Cape Town through...More
We did the Inverdoorn knowing that it was only a game reserve and not a safari .
So we were rather apprehensive what to expect .
It ended up a superb experience , we had a lovely ranger for the evening and morning drive ,...More
We visited Inverdoorn in February having booked through Ulungele Tours. We stayed in the Ambassador Suite which was absolutely gorgeous and it also meant we got our own guide for the two safaris; evening and morning. We had a lovely warm welcome and found all...More
What a lovely place! We stayed in the brand new "Kuganha" luxury tents. All was perfect: the warm welcome with Champagne, the afternoon safari (elephant, rhinoceros, kugus, zebras, giraffes, .....), the very good dinner, the morning safari the day after, feeding the elephants, ..... a...More
We stayed for 2 night at the ambassador Suite, which was a good choice even its quite expensive. The room was excellent big clan, and a great view to the karoon desert. Even 2 Jung rhino’s had Their enclosure in front of us. The Wi-Fi...More

Thank you for the positive feedback. Many of our animals have been rescued and, as a result, cannot fend for themselves. We strive to give them a better life by allowing them to roam free in a natural environment. There are many factors that could...More

Hi, We were in cape town in April 2016. Inverdoorn is a lovely place. We did the cheetah interaction. As far as I can tell it is included in the price of the luxury accommodations. I believe anyone can do this interaction but you have to pay extra for it. We stayed in the new luxury tents which were fabulous. However, the cheetah interaction was not included in the luxury tent package. Although we were able to feed the elephants as they have them come and visit the pool area in the morning. We paid an extra approximately $100 USD per person for the cheetah interaction. It lasts maybe 20-30 minutes. It must be booked separately with your safari guide. It is a private interaction, one trainer and the cheetah and my family. The cheetah is leashed and may be petted and you can take pictures/videos with the cheetah.
We had a rental car and drove from cape town. It is a lovely drive. However, the final 30-45 min?? were all dirt roads and I was afraid to drive too fast. I didn't want to blow out the rental tires. That made the trip take longer. I think it was a 3 -4 hour drive from Cape Town. I do not know anything about getting picked up.
I was disappointed that we missed the cheetahs running. This sounded very interesting but it was not part of our package. Apparently they do this about 4-5 pm when they feed the cheetahs. They are training the cheetahs to hunt for their food and you get to see them run very fast!!! We were out on safari when this happened and didn't want to stay the entire next day just for this. I think they do this event for the day safari people who do not stay overnight because their safaris are in the afternoon..
I do feel that all/most of the animals can be seen in one overnight stay, on the 2 safaris that are included in the overnights(evening and morning). It was a wonderful experience. One of my favorite experiences during our visit to South Africa. Probably not as fabulous as Kruger, but we didn't want to travel so far. So as local safari's go , this one is perfect.
As far as April goes, the weather was FABULOUS. It rained only 2 days out of 11. The rest were sunny and dry. Highs in upper seventies, low eighties and nights in 60's. I loved the weather.
The food was awesome in cape town. Shopping and food very cheap. I would love to go back!!!!!
arrival times for overnights are to get there before the safari's. They usually are around 4pm?? There is a pool and outdoor areas. I suppose you can get there whenever you want.
The one day safari is in afternoon .. I think they tell you the specific time to arrive for that one.

Hi - Yes, one night is enough but it will be a long day. The first starts at 06.30 and the evening safari is at 19.00. The only reason we stayed for 2 nights (in which the safaris were repeated) is that there was a special deal on and it wasn't much more for the two nights. Another thing to consider is the optional Cheetah experience that takes place at lunch time - well worth it - hope this helps
