We booked 4 nights here & had very good sightings of the few animals there. However 4 nights is far too long as you are doing 8 safaris seeing the same 2elephants,3 rhinos,3 lions,2 hippos as well as Cheetahs, giraffes, zebra, water buffalo, springboks, kudus etc. Therefore I think a maximum of 2nights would be good. The accommodation is good in...

Thank you for your feedback. It is usually advisable by the reservations team that two nights is the ideal number of stays as more than two nights will become repetitive. Inverdoorn is a 10 000 hectare reserve and the biggest of its kind close to Cape Town. However when compared to the reserves and parks in other parts of the...

First off, this is a game reserve which means they act as a sanctuary for animals brought from other parts of the country or other parts of Africa. You won't be seeing animals in their native habitat. And the animals are meticulously cared for. The accommodations are fantastic. I booked the cheapest room I could and it was splendid. The...

Because of the very high charges I expected far more than I got from this trip. It was a very regimented itinerary and as we queued for our late afternoon game run I could see that some vehicles had nine people in the vehicle while some had only two. Obviously if you pay more then you can have individual attention....

Thank you for your feedback . The prices are quite adequate as it starts from R 2 250.00 pp for a big five safari accommodation(Guest house). The vehicles are equipped to give each guest 360 views of their surroundings and guests could opt for private safaris which allow only yourself and your partner to be on a vehicle. The 10...

The staff is very nice and the place looks great. Furthermore Inverdoorn Safaris seems to do a great job with rescued animals. Because of that, and the typical little Karoo landscape, the safari experience is a bit different from other safaris in SA, with a very flat landscape and "non-wild" rescue Lions, Elefants and Chitas. Nevertheless it is a great...

Thank you for your feedback. Many of our animals have been rescued and, as a result, cannot fend for themselves. This, together with the fact that the Western Cape has been decimated by agriculture and human habitation, means we have to feed many of the animals and take care of those that come from difficult situations (such as the lions...

Allow 3 hours drive from Cape Town (about 45 minutes of this is on unsealed road) and this reserve is designed for an overnight stay. We stayed in the more luxurious suite which includes time to pat the tame Cheetahs. The accommodation and the time with the Cheetahs was a highlight. Also, the surroundings and the food was great. I...

We booked for an overnight stay, including Lunch upon arrival, safari in the afternoon, dinner, next day early safari + breakfast. This was awesome, from the start to the end, the big five, cheeta's run, large variety of food, everything was excellent, accommodations in bungalows, neat and spotless, all personnel very kind and helpful.

First - as mentioned by others one must have realistic expectations regarding the safari. The ranger did its best to show us all animals in the game reserve and indeed we saw the lions, gnu and so on. Took nice fotos and enjoyed driving off road! The downside of this trip and the reason for the poor rating is the...

Thank you for the feedback. We are glad you had great sightings of the wildlife and its surrounding. Each area has different chairs at Inverdoorn. Depending on weather conditions, the lodge will decide where lunch will be served. (Depending on weather conditions and season). The welcome drinks will vary. As far as the food is concerned, we can only apologize...

It is a given that Cape Town isn't the place for safaris but it was or first time in Africa and we couldn't resist doing this. We booked this day trip via Ulungele Tours (really great but this is for another review 😁). We came in and were welcomed with a smile and some biscuits and drinks before our game...

Thank you for your review. Indeed, Africa, espcially Cape Town, you can expect anything. However finding a big five private safari reserve will not be a problem. We spent one night at the chalet. All the facilities worked fine including the transportation fron Cape town and back. The safaris were nice, especially the sunset safari. The pool area was good. The dinner was trying too much, but other meals were ok.

My adventuresome wife and I laboured over whether we should do this visit. My beef was that given we had both been to the abundantly stocked game reserves in Kenya and Tanzania, there was a chance we may be disappointed. Sharon suggested to come back to Africa again and not see a lion or elephant would be a cardinal sin...

Thank you for your feedback. Inverdoorn is a 10 000 hectare reserve and the biggest of its kind close to Cape Town. However when compared to the reserves and parks in other parts of the country, particularly the north, the difference is enormous and will inevitably make us seem tiny in comparison.
