David and Maxine are the best. They even had a vegetarian breakfast for us. The B&B is warm and homey. The location is great. We sat on the porch and watched the birds come to their feeders. The location is very close to the village which is delightful.

Beautiful place in a quite mountain location in the middle of Los Padres National Park. We rented the Cowboy Room, very typical and super cozy! David and Maxine are super kind host, very welcoming; they waited for us woken up at the window till late night! We really appreciated, we had a great time with them, they made feel us...

I'm a repeat visitor to the Old Bear. This is an amazing find! Its close enough to L.A. to make it painless to get there and it always feel like I am "completely away". The drive into Pine Mountain from the freeway is enchanting. Dave and Maxine are amazing, welcoming hosts. The place is clean, cozy and alway a delight....

We stayed at the Old Bear last winter. The owners are very kind and made us feel at home. Our room was great; it was the room with the bird theme. The hot tub is great. If you need a large room, the cowboy/horse theme room looked perfect. What else? We were delighted with our stay.

I tried out B&B and was pleased. Great location in the hills with easy access to the local nature stuff. Maxine and Dave were warm friendly hosts. I can't speak for their cooking as I have a bunch of food sensitivities - which they graciously accommodated by letting me take over the kitchen. The place was homey and clean.

I usually camp up on the summit of Mount Pinos, very close to the Old Bear. Mount Pinos is Southern California's prime amateur astronomy site. For this trip I just couldn't get into the notion of camping (lot of work, you know!) and I was very pleased that I gave the Old Bear B&B a try this time out. Let...

I started coming here because there is simply no easy way to drive between San Diego and the Bay Area in one day without running into horrible traffic. It has gotten to where I look forward to staying here as much or more than I look forward to getting to my ultimate destination. The location is beautiful and peaceful. David...

As a client of this wonderful establishment, I have to offer five stars. I have found this charming get-away to be perfectly situated between many popular towns and cities up and down the West Coast. As we travel from place to place, especially at the top of the Grape Vine, there is an opportunity to check in for the night...

We were traveling with our 2 adult children and stayed in the Pineview Room and the Cowboy Room. Both rooms were nicely decorated and made you feel as comfortable as staying at home. The outdoor areas are wonderful; relaxing and rejuvenating. Service is second to none - wonderful hosts.
