This is THE place to pick if you want are real 'off the beaten track' holiday. The property is lterally miles from anywhere, don't try to find it in the dark, the track to the it very long and unlit. But when you arrive, the rooms are delightful, the views superb and Peppa is the most delightful hostess! Loved it!!
You can't wish for more if need to relax, see real Spanish life and try local kitchen. We stayed here with my wife and 2yo daughter. Owners were more than nice- they make us feel like home. Property is huge, house is old and it is real deal - 12 century. In spite of that, it has all you need- fast wi-fi, modern showers ... along with real fireplace. In a morning they advised us on a best places to visit, all pros and cons, and we were on our way. Bottom line is - I hope you'll enjoy it as we did
We reserved the "family room" for two nights in early August. The inn is as unique and peaceful as the descriptions indicate, although a bit more rustic than the website suggests. But still charming. Unfortunately, the weather was unusually hot and the building is not airconditioned or well ventilated. The very proprietor greeted us enthusiastically in a sweat-soaked shirt and immediately apologized for the oppressive heat, which he admitted was "too hot." It was nearly 100 degrees and stayed that way well into the night (I am a native of Florida and used to heat, but this was truly excessive). Our very cramped room, on the top floor, had one small window and a small, old fan that worked only intermittently; the room remained sweltering and airless all night. We sweated through the night without sleeping and checked out the morning, a day earlier than planned. We were clear about our reason for leaving and a bit apologetic, because the proprietor clearly takes great pride in the place. Nonetheless, he seemed a bit offended and required us to pay in full for the second night, which disappointed me. I understand that August is always warm and sometimes hot and that no one can control the weather. However, given the price, which is comparable to that of considerably more luxurious accomodations in the area, and the hotel's clear aspirations of being a high-end boutique, it seemed inappropriate to require payment for the second night when the sleeping quarters were unbearable. The point of this for future travellers is to be aware that (i) the hotel is not designed for comfort during very warm weather, and (ii) the management's focus on guest satisfaction may not extend as far as you might expect for a hotel in this price category.…
we've found a fantastic & relax place, a plesure and beatiful masia. The details of Gemma (the owner) made an amazing stage. When you wake up you can enjoy the beatiful seesight. A beautiful boutique style converted farmhouse set in wonderful countryside with great views. Homemade local style breakfast on terrace was a dream, freshly made juices were outstanding. Great hosts Gemma and Jonathan. Gemma was a mine of information on the best places to visit which really made our trip to this part of Spain hugely enjoyable. Top Tip: The unpaved road is quite good but there is no sign saying Mas Coquells off the road to Cistella. Look for the sign saying “Veinat De Coquells” Resaurant Bado in nearby Cistella is well worth a visit.
