Our stay at this hotel was relaxing, exciting and something that we will always remember. The hotel manager Marco Lacson Santo really rose to the challenge of helping us deal with the eventual cancellation of the second half of our trip due to closing down of many parts of the Philippines in response to Covid 19. Our plans were dashed when domestic flights were being cancelled and the liveaboard we were supposed to go on was in jeopardy. Marco valiantly tried to negotiate with the company owners, however everything ended up shutting down. I was also very impressed with the staff as I had a medical issue which resulted in them taking me to the emergency in town. Luckily it was nothing serious and when it came time to pay the clinic in cash, we did not have any, so the drivers stepped up to the plate and paid. We of course reimbursed the hotel for the cost (crazy cheap). Aside from all that, everyone on the resort really catered to people's wishes. They switched their cuisine to traditional Filipino food instead of American style. Delicious. When people asked for certain beer that they did not have available, they sought it out locally and delivered. The wait staff were always looking to refill your glass with water, which in this climate is essential. As this is a dive resort, their guides, captains, and everyone else associated with the company were awesome. They loved to find things for us to see and were patient while people took pics of the amazing critters. Our guide Bong, yes that is his name, was fabulous. Everyone else in our dive group also raved about their guides. Our room was clean and we got used to the see through shower wall. The water temp went from nuclear to cold, with some adjustment. Our AC worked well. The sunsets were beautiful and so was the view over the ocean. The only suggestion I have, and I spoke to Marco about it, is to have snacks available during the day, especially since diving makes one ravenous when you return to the hotel. Cookies, crackers, fruit etc. As it turns out we were the last group of guests before the resort closed down due to the pandemic. We hope that they will be able to get back up and running again. They deserve it.

Our group of divers checked in 3/9/20 for a week of diving before heading to Tubbataha. We did NOT make it to Tubbataha due to covid-19. The diving and dive guides are some of the best anywhere I've been. Saw things I'd only read about in my 25+ years of diving. The resort is beautiful, rooms spacious and everything worked well. The food PHENOMENAL especially after we requested local foods on the menu not Americanized food :) When news came down we wouldn't be able to go to Tubbataha the staff worked tirelessly to help us work things out. I would go back in a heart beat! Highly recommend it.

Firstly my son and I enjoyed our stay. While the resort is about 20km from Taal volcano the area is safe. Staff were really lovely without exception. I would say the price is about USD 50 too high per night assuming you’re paying about USD 150 per night. I do think a lot of Philippine hotels will really disappoint in terms of food, decor or facilities and I don’t believe this resort does. So perhaps it’s worth the 5* price although I would consider this a 3* or 4* resort. Food was genuinely good and given there were only a few rooms occupied, because of the ongoing volcanic eruptions, most dishes were available. Dive master provided a great introductory lesson for my son & prices for diving and jetski were reasonable for a tourist destination. At night it’s a very peaceful resort and the room was fine, just a little small for the price. Breakfast was pretty good and they’ll do whatever you ask within reason and based on available ingredients. Don’t expect a big buffet but you can easily eat enough to get through to dinner. The wifi was down which was disappointing but they provided a small discount, as I had to use my roaming dataplan for work and personal communications. I believe this is probably the best option in the locality so maybe accept the slightly higher than normal price for a Mabini dive resort. Thanks to genuinely lovely staff for making our stay such a pleasure.

We spent one night at the Aiyanar Beach and Dive Resort, Mabini on 16th November-2019. We planned to spend the day trip but, when we landed to the resort we got entrapped by the beautiful resort location & surrounding and decided to spend the whole night. The room was with sea view and king size bed. The resort has a beautiful swimming pool and a divers training pool as well with 15ft depth. Room was comfortable will all the facilities. We ended up spending Php 10700 for one night. I also learned that the resort provided padi courses.

We went here just this weekend, Sept 28-29. At first we are welcomed by a tiny but stunning entrance. we arrived around noon so the place was instagram ready without needing the help of filter. Our rooms were the ocean view rooms, the scenery was beautiful. So we went to swim. some of my friends also played volleyball. it was fun. there were not so many guests at that time which was great. we got to enjoy the pool and huts. Then dinner time came. I must say, i was really shocked with the prices of their food. The taste was okay, but the beef in the Bulalo is hard to chew. For me the food and drinks are little bit pricey for their taste. Also our shower is flooding. we stayed at room 304 and our friends at the room beside us are experienced the same. For the price of 10k per room, we have really high expectations. The Wi-fi btw is slow. The place doesn't have a good network reception so you would basically be relying on wi-fi. One more thing, there are no fridge in their rooms. Maybe this is to discourage bringing your own drinks and such, idk. But kudos to the employees working there. They are very helpful, accommodating and cheerful. Our overall stay was good but for me the place doesn't give justice to the price.

Dear CioAbby, Thank you for choosing Aiyanar Beach and Dive Resort for your last vacation. We have addressed the concerns you had regarding the food and rest assured the Bulalo will be better on your next visit. As for the showers we have had maintenance check and recheck the drainage system as they may have been clogged during your stay from the consistent rains we had in Aug and Sep. since the ocean view building is built into the hill, mud and leaves do block the drainage from time to time. As for the Wifi... Starting Nov 1, 2019 we have taken steps to improve the service at our facility. We have transferred to a specialty system with dedicated servers hopefully this will solve the wifi problem. We purposely did not put fridges in the rooms, as fridges would mean having a mini bar. We do however supply coffee, tea and water in the rooms and full room service is always an option when the restaurant is open. Outside food and drinks are not allowed in the resort but we make exceptions for food such as chips and snacks like these. Also bottles of alcohol are charged corkage upon entry. We at Aiyanar Pride ourselves in the Service, Efficiency and Picturesque "instagram ready" surroundings that we provide our guests. And though we have tried to keep our prices low; the cost of keeping Aiyanar the way it is, is always taken into consideration. In closing I would like to thank you for bringing up the points above; rest assured the Aiyanar Team will address each of those points. We do hope you come and visit us again and see the progress your review has helped us to achieve.
