Very atmospheric little dining room with a twist On old favourites. Steak and Ale pie washed down with Southford Cider was delicious. Hunters chicken, Scampi were also very nice. Family friendly! Something on the menu for everyone.

Called in after a day out. We were welcomed by the friendly staff. Just had main courses which were extremely tasty and great portion sizes. We had the special burger and pie and our son enjoyed a choice of many from the kids menu. We will certainly go back when we are out this way!

I have visited this pub whilst away motor homing for a few years now and have eaten there several times. Staff always cheerful and polite, food always first class and a good selection, and dog friendly.

Just popped in for a drink, hoping to get lunch. They were extremely busy so decided to not eat here. The food looked delicious and we were some what dissapointed that they were so busy as the food made our mouths water ,it was so well presented.. Staying in the village so called in for a meal on a Monday evening. Staff were all friendly, the service was quick and attentive and the food was good tasty pub food. Great value for money. Good choice of menu and wine list, which was reasonably priced. Would certainly go back.

The food was very good but the portions were too big. We all had starters and by the time we had finished them we were full and couldn't really enjoy the main course. Downside was that there were small kids running around and they could have caused an accident. Not the pubs fault more the parents for letting them

Spent the week camping in Thornton-le-Dale and popped in here a few times. Hand pulled real ale was great, 3 or 4 different ales and tasty, well kept. Food was good, we had the fish & chips and the burger, both meals were good, the burger was a little over-cooked to be honest but the chips were superb !!! Pub... More

The Buck has been greatly improved over the years and is now a great pub right in the centre of Thornton Dale. Cosy and welcoming bars with good selection of beers and wines plus simple and tasty pub food.

Myself and a few friends were staying in a cottage in Thornton le Dale for the weekend. When entering The Buck we were looked at like we were not welcome. After asking for a round of drinks the barmaid who may well be the owner spoke to us horrendously. I have never been so shocked. Apart from that, the food... More
