We had the best time doing a bread course and staying over. Firstly, Lesley and David have the most stunning home with so much character, the fire in the lounge was a highlight! The course itself was outstanding, we learned so much and made SO much delicious bread. Lesley has so much knowledge and it was a delight to be taught by her. Dinner was out of this world too, some of the best food we have ever eaten. We also thoroughly enjoyed chatting to both Lesley and David, you'd struggle to meet a more welcoming and interesting couple. The room we stayed in was immaculate and so cozy, we slept so well despite being there in the middle of a storm. Even breakfast the next morning was such a high quality, we left very full and very happy. If you're looking for an amazing experience and to enhance your bread/baking knowledge or even an amazing experience for a gift, we could not recommended The Old Church B&B and Lesley's Kitchen Bread School more. We can't wait to come back!!!!!

Completed the 5 day stay and bake bread course and had the most amazing time. Lesley’s baking knowledge is phenomenal and feel honoured she has shared this with myself. The converted church is a stunning place to stay and the hosting and food was fantastic! Already booked to go back again for another course next year. Highly recommend, book.. you certainly won’t be disappointed!

Myself and my friend have just left The old church literally 40 mins ago after spending the past 5 days of stay and bake. We had 3 days of bread and two days of cakes our experience by far was so above and beyond our expectations! Lesley is a fantastic teacher with a wealth of knowledge nothing is too much trouble and it really feels like being in a family kitchen. The amount of different breads and cakes we managed to make in our 5 days was just amazing and it is all of the best quality of produce used with lots of information about the ingredients. The old church it’s self has a very warm feel to it and we could not have felt more welcome by both Lesley and David. We did have some apprehensive about coming to stay especially now with all of what is going on with the Covid situation, however we both felt extremely safe and every effort was made to maintain a safe environment. Not only is Lesley a fantastic teacher she also is a superb cook and we have been extremely well fed with delicious dinners each evening. The course is great value for money and we would wholeheartedly recommend it. We look forward to returning next year and really feel that not only have we learnt some new skills but have made new friends too.

We stayed as we were doing the foundation bread course the following day. We had a wonderful supper and Lesley is such a great cook. We were in heaven. The accommodation is so beautiful, full of character and a fascinating building. The foundation bread course was superb. Lesley is a born teacher and we quite quickly realised that our own attempts at bread making at home were pathetic. This is another level and a really fun experience. We will be going back for further education and the luxury of the stay there.

What a baptism of fire! Going from a complete novice to confidant baker in 5 days, what a difference. Lesley is a fountain of knowledge. Such a kind and helpful tutor. Extra steps have been put in place to make sure everyone feels safe and catered for especially in these uncertain times. I'd especially recommend the 'Bake and Stay', the food was amazing... Overall, the whole experience was great and I'll certainly be back for more.

I had been looking to improve my bread making skills and the course offered by Lesley was just right up my street! She showed the class how to make several types of bread, was very hands on and took time with each of us to help us perfect our creations! she has inspired me to keep up my newly learned skills when at home.I can't wait to return for more! Lunch was lovely too and a thoroughly relaxing day! Thank you!

I recently completed a Mediterranean bread making day course at Lesley's Kitchen and I cannot recommend it more highly! From start to finish the course was relaxing, informative and fun. I achieved so much more than I could have imagined - producing 4 delicious loaves to take home. Lesley's knowledge and skill is formidable and yet her natural, easy way of teaching means that a beginner like me feels encouraged and never intimidated. All the ingredients you will use at Lesley's Kitchen are the very best quality and I have returned home determined to keep practicing what I have learnt. I am already planning a future course! If you are tempted to attend a bread making course Lesley's Kitchen is the place to head to.

Just been on a Mediterranean bread making day course at Lesley’s Kitchen. It was a cracking day. The course is catered for all skill levels and abilities. I’ve been on other courses at the Glasgow Cook School and Braehead Cook School but I’ve got to say that Lesley’s Kitchen is by far the best. Less demonstrations and more hands on baking which makes you feel more involved with Lesley there to help you with her expertise, experience and knowledge to guide you through the whole process. This gives you the experience that you’ve created everything that you go home with at the end of the day. And don’t forget lunch thrown in as well. All ingredients that Lesley used were organic and high quality. The course is set up for smaller numbers so you get more of a one to one lesson which I thought was great. It was a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere that Lesley and her husband David provide along with a great bunch of like minded bakers in the making which was fantastic. At the end of the day you head home with all of your creations and a pack with all the recipes that you’ve made on the course an a few extras! This will not be my only visit, I’ll be keeping my eye on the Lesley’s Kitchen website to see which other course takes my fancy as there are so many to choose from. Thanks Lesley for a brilliant day!
