Why I just loved the place - 1. Sugama bus from Bangalore (to Hornadu), just drops you at the gates of the Balur estate. 2. An unbeatably appealing collection of antiques and interiors at the home stay, as if its some medieval era. 3. Extremely tasty Malnad food. They even neatly packed us lunch for our way back home. Every... More

This place was every bit just as advertised - calm, serene, luxurious, lush green - perfect for a do-nothing getaway. The best part for us was the food and the cottage. Food was prepared especially for us based on our likes and dislikes. The caretakers went out of their way on several occasions to serve us very good local food.... More

We recently visited the property for a family get together..after our last year experience at linger @ sakeleshpur. The bookings were handled over email and it was a breeze. We decided to spend 2 nights there just to soke in the peace and tranquillity, the place promised. We were pleasantly surprised to get a call couple of days before our... More

We visited Balur Estate in the middle of May. We were 2 families with kids and we as well as the kids had a great time. Summarised the pros and cons of the homestay below: Pros - Very neat and clean premises and restrooms - Native home-made food is the biggest plus. The caretakers are very receptive to the food... They are simple, beautiful cottages (at least 100yrs old) located amidst lush green coffee estate. If you are planning for a peaceful retreat, just blindly go for it. Property: Their property is around 300acres of coffee plantation and the cottages are of different sizes. So whether its just a weekend getaway with your wife/friends or a planned family outing, they... More

Its a nice serene location - amidst a large coffee estate. The property is good and so is the furniture. Also loved the service - especially of Rakesh, the manager and the cook, Paumila (not sure if I got her name correct). Liked the food overall, a special mention of the desserts. They had just the right amount of sweetness... More

Have been to Balur a few times. It is a heritage property very well managed by the team. Best for a laid back lazy break for couples & families as well. Best is to when it rains - you can eat - sip coffee, walk through the estate. Planter’s bungalow set in a 400 acres of coffee plantation. River Hemavathy... More

The theme for camp linger getaways is 'Do Nothing'.......and I love it, really. We went there as a group (6 families) and had great fun. The rooms are quite spacious and are decorated with heritage theme and are in tune with the nature. The coffee suite and cardamom suites are especially nice. The bathrooms have a sunroof !!! and I... We were 3 couples and 3 kids visiting this place in March 2016. The estate is massive spread across few hills, there is no way you can do a complete plantation walk in a single day. Pros: - The rooms are huge and very cosy. - One of the best food we had, they would cook almost anything you ask.... More
