Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay!
Apartment was stylish but also had that rustic, traditional feel to it. Spiral staircase was good fun!
Bed was beautifully comfortable - and huge! Lots of lighting to make the place feel light and airy.
Shower was lovely! Power was very strong and lovely hot water.
Kitchen was great, although lacking a frying pan and a sharp knife. Not a real issue though as we popped to the supermarket in Omis (10 minutes away by car) and picked these up for pennies!
The restaurant is incredible. Not only do you watch your food being cooked on an open fire, but the hosts are wonderful, warm people who welcome you and delight in your amazement. Plenty of Vino, Pivo and Vodka only adds to the wonderful atmosphere. You MUST try the lamb!
Plenty of parking literally just across from the apartment which is useful!
You would 100% need a car when staying here but car hire starts from £70 for a week with Oryx and the roads are such good fun! We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the beautiful village of Gata.
We hope to be back soon!

A authentic and rustics gem of a Konoba hidden away up tiny tracks in the mountains. The Konoba was like stepping back in time. The wooden fire adding the fragrance and smoky ambience. The food is cooked on the wood fire feet away from you. The welcome is exceptionally friendly. Not being a tourist place they do not speak English which added to the charm. The menu is simple but offers good variety of local dishes. The food is so tasty. I love this place so much!

We booked a weeks stay after reading the reviews on here. You will need a car if you stay here which we hired at very reasonable rates and picked up easily at the airport. I checked the maps before we arrived so we would know where to go but actually once you are in Omis there are various signs painted along the way directing you to the Konoba.
Dragana met us on arrival and we stayed in the first apartment/studio flat. There was just the two of us and we found everything we needed for our stay upon arrival. It was clean with plenty of room. There was a fridge and basic cooking and eating utensils, quite adequate for making a packed lunch or making a simple meal if needed. We had breakfast on the patio and enjoyed sitting by the pool with our wine at night gazing at the stars. It's a short 10 min drive down to Omis for supplies. There is a pool which we had to ourselves most of the time. The scenery is beautiful with fantastic views from the apartments and pool. We are quite happy outdoors and found little runs and walks through the villages and had a lovely explore around the locality. We even found the path down the mountainside and walked down to town.
Omis is very busy and traffic is crazy all along the cost line but the beach is good and the sea is nice for a swim. We liked the fact that we could dip in and out of the hubub whenever we liked. There are plenty of shops and restaurants but we chose to eat in the local tavern every night. The food is basic but adequate with the prices reflecting this (much more expensive in town) and yosef is a lovely character!
Even though the apartments are all together there was lots of privacy so you felt you had the place to yourself.
We would definately stay here again.

The apartment was fairly basic but was clean and has everything you need. Inc a washing machine.
It overlooks a goat farm and peach and olive trees. It has a little sun deck and dip pool with a great view, this was lovely first and last thing. The pool was great when things got a little too hot.
The family at the restaurant we very friendly and welcoming but spoke very little English. They would make you breakfast if you wanted it and the evening marls were nice. They have free wi fi so you can log in and check up on things.
Omis itself was amazing. The beach wasn't all that but if you drive along the coast there are many little beach areas where you can park free and walk down. The sea was super clean and clear and very warm.
The town has loads of great restaurants and fruit stalls. Amazing watermelon .
We went rafting, zip wiring and kyacking and would recommend them all. The river is amazing and cool when it's so hot.
Can't say enough how much we liked Omis we will be going to Croatia again.

We've just returned from the most fabulous stay. Its quite difficult to summarise it, but here goes...
A beautiful, peaceful location with wonderful views of the sea in the distance. A cow, goats and donkeys for company plus the occasional friendly local. The accommodation is a converted barn with a vine covered patio area, which stayed lovely and cool. There is a c. 3x5m swimming pool suitable for kids swimming and adults relaxing. We were the only guests so had the pool to ourselves. Dragana and her father Joseph were so welcoming! Lunch of cheese, meat, bread and wine on arrival, plus a complementary evening meal at their local restaurant. How lovely!! Omis is about a 10 minute car ride down a winding road, with many restaurants in the beautiful Old Town area. Lots to do locally... Favourites included... Walk to the Fort - do-able in trainers but take water! Brela beach, although the ones just outside Omis are lovely too. Split is a fabulous city to visit - do walk up the hill for an amazing view. Also Kryka National Park, Sibernik, Trogir and a boat trip on Junior to Brac - very good value. Enjoy!!

Location: Idyllic rural village in the hills behind Omis. Very peaceful and quiet at night. Overlooks a goat farm with peach and olive trees. Perfect if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the silence, provided by the bucketful. Definitely would recommend hiring a car as it is rural, but there is plenty of parking.
Accommodation: my husband and I stayed in Apartment A1 for just under a week. The apartment was basic but very clean and comfortable. There are a few bits in the kitchenette for cooking a hob-top meal, and a good sized little fridge. The water heats up quickly for showers and there was enough for both of us each night.
Facilities: there is a dipping pool and a terrace with chairs and loungers, which overlooks the valley facing south. An extremely peaceful way to spend an afternoon. The wi-fi signal in the house is superb.
Hosts: Dragana and her husband were wonderful. They gave us a mobile number to call if we needed anything and looked after us during our stay. They also own the restaurant by the same name just up the road. Can't say enough good things about these people. Their English is much better than my Croatian and they couldn't do enough to help us.
Other things to note: the restaurant choose to the apartments is a traditional restaurant serving traditional food. The price was good, the portion sizes generous and the food was delicious! I am sad we only managed to eat there once. There is a tourist tax to pay on arrival (unless you book directly with them, when this is included in the price according to the website) but it isn't a lot.
Things to do:
Krka National Park is about 1hr 45 minutes drive from the apartments. There are boat trips, for a fee, and walks to do in the park and you can swim at the bottom of the waterfalls. A beautiful place to visit and lots of little shops in the villages in the park. The obvious toilets (main entrance, down by the waterfalls) cost about 7kn but there are free ones away from the main tourist traps.
Dubrovnik is about 2.5hours drive south of the apartments. Check your hire car insurance covers the drive through Bosnia and Herzegovina - most of them are fine about driving on the main road only but charge extra if you go on any of the other roads. When we went, border crossing took about 10 seconds at each end. In Dubrovnik, we parked in the multistorey underground garage outside the old town (500m walk down steps). The garage costs about 30kn an hour and the machines only accept the correct change (and must be less than a 200kn note). I can highly recommend the cable cars and the homeland war museum at the top of the hill. We didn't walk around the city walls as it was heaving but instead wandered the back streets which were very quiet. Oh and there's a restaurant called Lady Pi-Pi in the north west corner of the town, which is shade by grape vines. One of the less "touristy" bits of town well tucked out of the way, excellent food and service.
Beaches: as advertised, gloriously clean water which was an excellent temperature end of September. There is plenty of life, it's just not as colourful as other countries. Watch out for the very spiny black urchins and weaver fish. Beach shoes are an excellent idea (plus it's quite gravely on every beach anyway). There are a number of lay-bys on the coastal road which you can park in and get down to the beaches from, some of them are very quiet.
Other notes on Croatia:
The motorways are all tolled, you take a ticket and pay on exit. Have cash handy, it seems only a few of them take cards.
The drinking water is safe.
In summary: Thank you Dragana for a wonderful stay, hopefully one day we will be back to enjoy some more time with you!

So, where do I start?Firstly I want to say BIG “Thank you” to the property owner – Dragana. She was always helpful, ready to assist in any way, always responding to texts or e-mails very quickly. She even brought us their own home made wine for tasting! She is another important asset of the property,
The house is only 2 or 3 minutes by car from the road to Omis. The accessibility is excellent, but at the same time the house is set in an incredibly peaceful environment . The loudest sound is that of kids playing.
Apartment (A2) was stylish, traditional and comfortable. Spiral staircase were looking like a scary place for kids but it ended as a great fun!
Beds were very big and very comfortable!
Kitchen was great, although there was no sharp knife – no big problem but to cut the bread it was difficult.
Apartment overlooks a goat farm and peach and olive trees. It has a little sun deck and dip pool with a great view, this was lovely. The pool was great for the kids. Water was checked every day and treated if needed.
For online addicts: there is excellent, stable Wi-Fi coverage throughout the house.
Plenty of parking literally just across from the apartment which is useful!
You would 100% need a car when staying here.
The restaurant is great. Not only do you can watch your food being cooked on an open fire, but the hosts are wonderful, warm people who welcome you. Plenty of Pivo and other drinks. Peka (cooked under the lid) – is a must have dish.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the beautiful village of Gata.
Gift that kids received from the owners made us feel as a part of family.
We hope to be back soon!

The surroundings are absolutley beautiful just to begin, there's no where better for views!
However, on the first night we ate at the family restaurant. I have to say the food wasn't the best, I think we were fed goat but we still aren't too sure as the owners cannot speak english or very little should I say.
We were told to pay 315 kuna in tax within 10 minutes of arriving which we were not aware of whatsoever.
The cottage is quite small so I wouldn't stay with more than 2 people in total. Equipment is basic, no washing machine, no oven, no microwave.
The furniture is quite cheap and easily damaged so they could do with updating that.
The hedges surrounding the entrance of the cottage attracts a lot of insects, so there are constantly flies, centipedes and spiders in the cottage..we did come across a scorpion on night two!
The family that owns the restaurant and the cottages are lovely, apart from the Father who seemed to be inappropiate at times with his comments.
You need to have your own transport, which we discovered after waiting for a bus that never came and we ended up taking a 1.5 hour walk down the mountain.

First we want to thank you for beeig our guests. But we also must say this: When you came that night it was late...restaurant and markets was closed. You said that you are hungry and I open restaurant and you order pancakes and pommes. That was your first and last visit to our restaurant. And you didn't pay for that because we sad it is ok. But you said that the food in restaurant is not good...About turist tax....you know verry good that agency don't pay tourist tax and that you must pay it. But you didn' t pay it in whole you pay just a part and said that you will pay it last day. You said that the check out will be at 11 o'clock and when we came at 9 you already left apartment. You escape and lave a mess. The other guests couldn't sleep because you turn on a loud music during night. Yes we don't have dishwasher and owen but also we never said that we have that. In our description write everything ..also the distance from see. You didn't say that you need to go to hospital and that we take you there. And one question..why you don't like our father? Maby because he don't speek engles and he try to say that you must close window when it is windy so it can be broked. Or maby because he try to say that bags with garbage you must put in a box near apartment and not leave it in front of house. And one thing ladies we wash our plates, cups ,spoons, towels and use it again, we are not drop them away in garbage. Dear Olivia Rostron and Eleni Psarakis thanks one more time.... p.s. I´m sorry that I don´t have an option to put some photos of apartment when you left so everyone can see that mess

We stayed in apartment A-1 which slept 2. Very clean little apartment, very basic but comfortable. Josef & dragana who own the apartments made us very welcome, both very warm, friendly ppl who both speak very little English . The dip pool was amazing because the weather was very very hot. Pool & pool area both very clean. If you love the peace and quiet this is the place for you. It's around 20 mins in to omis by car. There is apparently a bus service to omis from the apartments but we didn't see a bus around there the whole week we were there. Thank u Josef & dragona for a wonderful stay :)

I have to agree with all of the other reviews, it is incredible bear in mind every day there was wall to wall blue skies, and 38+ temperature, this does help. We loved the remoteness and everything about it. We even befriended a local one eyed cat that came for food and milk every day. A car is a must, A really great experience.

Yes there is place near pool where you can sunbathe. If you book directly you don´t have to pay torist tax only agency´s guests and it is 1 euro per person per day. Our restauran is 150 m from apartment so you can walk but we always suggest to take car because you are on village and it is nice to go litlle bit around. on our web site you can see more photos and descriptions.
