A couple of minutes from the beautiful chateau at Usse (the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty's castle) this small hotel offers a very friendly welcome, with good food served in the cozy bar/restaurant. There's off road parking and a covered shelter for bicycles - this is handy as the Loire a velo cycle path is nearby.

We stayed just one night in room 1 whilst on a walking holiday. The room was very small, and the bathroom also tiny. No too really for a couple of suitcases! Owners were very enthusiastic and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was basic but freshly cooked. Breakfast was also basic with just a few things available on... More

We had lunch at the restaurant after visiting the castle. The staff was just so friendly and fun. We sat outside on the terrace. My son really enjoyed the risotto and vegetable soup. The ceasar salad and croquet monsieur was wonderful. We finished with homemade ice cream...yum!

Amazing location on the doorstep of the chateau. As others have said the rooms are tiny and the bathroom is just a hoot! Nice decor, comfortable bed and tea making facility in the room which is rare in France. The evening meal was just superb, no sign of a microwave there. Everything we ate was simply delicious with excellent service.... More

This is a nice hotel handy for the Chateau d' Usse and they do great food, the dinner was the best I had in the entire tour. The room was small and the bathroom was a bit too bijou. The setting is relaxed and the host was welcoming. In the evening sitting outside the mosquitos were vicious and I ended... More

The Clos is a rather tired and modest guesthouse. The staff were perfectly pleasant but dinner was disappointing in places. The house salad was good but kitchen seems over reliant on the microwave for any hot food. The confit de canard was a real let down. On the plus side it was a leg of a duck and it was... More

The hotel is nicely situated and the owners were welcoming. However, the bathrooms were too small and with two people sharing a room the whole situation needs a big dose of sense of humour. Just sitting on the toilet caused the door to pop open. Even moving around the bed took choreography. It's an old building and on suite was... More

This is a lovely small hotel in the village of Rigny-Usse near the Chateau D'Usse (the Sleeping Beauty Chateau!) We have to keep going back to visit it on our travels in France because the proprietors are so friendly and helpful and give you such a warm welcome. Our room was large and the bed really comfortable, everything was clean... More

A delightful family run hotel in the village of Rigny-Usse, which is a stone’s throw from the Chateau D’Usse. Our room was although little small was clean and had a very comfortable bed. The food restaurant was good and we both enjoyed the evening meal; breakfast was basic but wholesome. Our hostess was charming and thoroughly enjoyed stay.

This cute little hotel is a fine hotel on its own, but the fabulous proprietors make it great. The two of them both speak english and are super friendly. At dinner they pretty much disposed of the menus and let us order anything we wanted. Very quiet as well.
