My husband and I didn't stay at Hotel Du Rocher which makes their kindness even more special. We are both in our seventies but can still put in a good day on the trails. Long-story-short: We found ourselves in Le Caylar, after walking 16km, instead of in Le Cros where we had left our car. The receptionist at the hotel... More

We stopped off here, late in the evening, on our way down south. Having seen the high cost and low quality of hotels in Millau, it was a relief to find such a comfortable and reasonably priced hotel so close to the motorway. And it was nice to find that the reception staff were so friendly and welcoming. The hotel... More

What a pleasant surprise! Such a clean and friendly hotel, with free wifi and great showers (essential from my other half's point of view). Comfortable and welcoming. Food nicely presented from a limited choice. Recommended. Very close to motorway, and Millau Bridge.

We stayed here in late March and found ourselves in a warm, comfortable room. The proprietor was welcoming, and kindly put us in a room of a higher quality than the one we had booked. We had our evening meal in the dining room. The menu was limited but the standard was excellent. My confit of duck was delicious. The village... More

We stayed here enroute back to the uk from Spain. We found the beds to be clean and comfortable and had a very good nights sleep. It was fairly quiet and we felt quite safe there. You do have to eat in the village as there was no restaurant facilities but it was within walking distance and wasn't a problem.... More

Cheap hotel but the room, though basic, was clean and the bed was comfortable. Decent shower too. The staff booking us in were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was a typical continental affair with breads, jams, butter etc. limited if you are used to chain hotel offerings but adequate. We did not eat at the hotel but found a good auberge... More

My self and my family found ourselves having to stay in La Caylar following a car breakdown driving back from Spain to the UK. While the hotel is clean and well kept if unremarkable, the staff and proprietors went out of their way to help us out in a difficult sittuation and ensure a stressful time was made as manageable... I wanted to visit La Couvertoirade for the first time in 30 years, and also do a couple of the shorter local walks on the 'causses'. I chose this hotel because Le Caylar is a good jumping-off point. It is a traditional, two star French hotel, clean rooms, welcoming staff-owner, very good basic traditional cooking (typically some ham, confit de... More
