I have only one complaint about our stay at the Maison...it was too brief!! My sister and I only spent two nights in this charming, beautifully furnished, bed and breakfast. We stayed in a two room suite which was elegantly appointed and the beds were very very comfortable. We ate breakfast both mornings we were there and it was superlative...with... More

My husband and I stayed here for a week while we explored this area mostly on our bikes. Our room was beautiful and meticulously clean and even smelled lovely, with fresh, crisp, white linens, and heavenly over sized swimming pool towels. Our host Gerard is the cook/chef and is AMAZING!!! Do yourselves a favor and have dinner there each night... More

Wonderful property in a small, calm village. We picked the inn because of its proximity to the caves and, in particular Grotte de Fonte de Gaume (fantastic)- 15m from the inn. The location was great but the inn was even better. The owners, Marie-Laure and Gerard, could not be nicer. They welcomed us in the garden with a lemonade and... More

Beautifully decorated suite rooms, tastefully furnished and intimate garden. I recommend # 3 which has a great view of the pool. The pool although small is a gorgeous green color. The couple of hosts are very warm and friendly. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a small hotel. Great variety and excellent cooked to order menu plus buffet.... More

Although located in a very small village, this B&B is centrally located for the sights in the region. The place is warm, inviting, clean and comfortable. But, the clear highlight is the food. Dinner and breakfast are excellent - truly top quality, well prepared and presented meals and a great value.

We stayed at this B& B with another couple. The decor was lovely and we had a junior suite upstairs. Breakfast was fabulous with several courses. If you are there more than one night you should have dinner. Gerard is a fabulous cook using local ingredients. Marie Lore is a gracious server/sommelier. You need to give Gerard a day and... More

We've stayed at Maison de Marquay on our roadtrip through France. It's a cozy little place in a very charming tiny village. Perfect hideaway with very nice hosts. The breakfast is amazing. We wish, we could have stayed longer.

Stayed here in late April for 3 nights as part of a 2 week journey from Paris-Normandie-Bordeaux-Dordogne-Loire-Paris - our "Rick Steves" trip! We arrived late afternoon and were immediately told to have a drink and relax - in a very nice way, of course! Marie-Laure and Gerard introduced themselves and helped us get situated in our room. Unfortunately, my wife... More

Drawn by superb reviews of the Maison de Marquay on Tripadvisor.com and Michelin.fr, we booked a week, aiming to explore the countryside, chateaux and prehistoric sites of the Périgord, stopping when necessary to eat wonderful food. We also planned to visit a couple of old towns near Bergerac to look in their archives for traces of my wife’s Huguenot ancestors.... More

Marie-Laure and Gerard offer a lovely experience in a charming village in the Dordogne. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, the inn is beautifully decorated, the breakfasts each day were absolutely overwhelming in their quality, variety and abundance of food offered. . . But the real stars are the dinners -- each a marvelous creation by Gerard, who provided us... More
