We had a lovely room with view of Rutland water. The only downside to the room was the tv not in a good place to watch from the bed. Room was clean. Good to be able to open the window. Comfortable bed. The breakfast was good but had to wait for coffee. Would have preferred a self service hot drinks...

We attended a family wedding at normanton church followed by reception here. The church is beautiful and the ceremony was lovely. The wedding reception was fantastic, I don't know of any guests who didn't thoroughly enjoy themselves. The staff during the time I was there were very helpful and accommodating - nothing too much trouble. The wedding breakfast was outstanding,...

Converted from an old stable block of a manor house, this has a lot of character. A lovely old hotel that has been obviously been looked after and well maintained. Rooms were clean, welcoming and comfortable, with juliette balconies looking out over the water. We had a room on the first floor with a Jacuzzi bath and four poster bed and...

We needed to visit the area at short notice and couldn't get our dogs into the kennels we use, so looked at "pet friendly hotels" - our first experience of taking our 2 dogs to a hotel. This hotel was fabulous for us and we'll definitely stay again - either with, or without our two much loved pets. The staff...

Spent a night and the facilities were really good and the service was top notch. The dinner selection was really good and the setting was really good for a dinner with friends, definitely worth a visit

Heating radiators did not work only 1 electric radiator which made atmosphere dry which was uncomfortable. The hotel otherwise is in a very beautiful area and if updated more would attract more visitors

Stayed here one night and quite frankly wished we hadn't. This was a Christmas present and thought it looked fabulous and for the price thought it would be excellent. But it wasn't. Read on. Arrived early so went in the lounge for a drink before going in the room. First impressions it looked great. Sat on the sofa in the...

Stayed here for the night as attending a wedding, first impressions were good, friendly reception and checked in quickly. We were however disappointed with our room - paintwork was quite badly marked and chipped - particularly under the window and the grouting in the shower cubicle wasn't particularly clean - for £90 we expected better. Breakfast in the morning was...

I stayed at Normanton Park on Saturday 10th December with my wife and friends to say we were uninspired is an understatement. The receptionist (who I think was the duty manager) was abrupt, curt and most unwelcoming, however we persevered and went to our room which were adequate and as booked had lake views. When we returned to the hotel...

We had never been to the area before and it was a bit of a lucky dip that we stayed here but I'm so glad we did. The hotel is lovely, the food excellent but what really made our stay was the staff. From barman, waiter, chambermaid right up to the deputy manager Daniel the staff could not be faulted....
