I would of liked to have given this place an extra star as my boyfriends food was fine.unfortunately after my roast pork dinner I was up all night with an upset stomach.we arrived after 3 when the chef had gone upstairs for a break.don't know if my meal hadn't been heated enough or was reheated.pleasant enough surroundings.

Have just booked in for two nights and just enjoyed a well presented steak. First impression is good. You have to take into account this is a very old pub with loads of character so no Michelin stars here. Just good food, good range of real ale, good pub atmosphere, nothing to dislike. Room well presented although a couple more... More

We are astonished to read some of the earlier negative reviews as we have only praise for the Crown Inn. We arrived rather late in the evening but it was not too much trouble for the landlady/cook to make us a fresh, hot meal. We ate in the bar and which was clean and comfortable. We were given suggestions as... More

Me and my partner and our friends visit here regularly at the weekend for drinks and sometimes food! It's lovely! The staff are friendly and efficient! The drinks are a good price for a small town and the food is lovely! Will always visit here again!

We were staying in Uppingham last night and ended up in here after our meal. They had a dj on who was very good. Staff were pleasant enough. Enjoyed the music, drank too much and felt it this morning! Would definitely go back!!

Popped in for a cup of tea to break the journey on the way back from Norfolk. Ordered 2 teas. Landlady offered a pot of tea for two, at which point the landlord complained that 'you get 4 cups from a pot'. Asked for a glass of water for the dog, landlord growled 'there is a bowl outside'. There was... More

Had 3 lunches on Saturday, was very average pub food. Very much a local pub, busy but friendly. Would I eat here again, no. Each to his own. My food was ok but not first class, typical local pub food. Ordered fish & chips, sausage sandwich & chips and American combo.

We called here while passing, as we were looking for somewhere to eat a late lunch. The building is very nice, well decorated and with comfortable seating. The barman was friendly and welcoming. There weren't many customers (it was around 2:30pm) and no-one actually eating. I placed our order for food (we both opted for burgers) and sat down with... More

Just popped in with a friend for a drink and a meal after a long bike ride. Waited a long time for our meal and when it did turn up I was told that they had put non - vegetarian cheese on my veggie burger and cheesy chips! Went to the bar to ask if this was correct and the... More

Hello Jo, Thank you for your review of the Crown Inn. I'm sorry to hear that your visit was not as pleasant as you anticipated. With regards to the cheese, the Crown markets the veggie burger as being vegetarian, but the added extras are not necessarily vegetarian/vegan friendly. As many vegetarians do eat cheese as they do not - regardless... More
