Ras Michamvi Beach Hotel is a nice spot if you are looking for a relaxing vacation far away from the old town of Zanzibar. Located about 1hr drive from Zanzibar airport / port, you can always get a return transfer prior arranged with the hotel. The rooms are spacious, some with sea view while majority with garden view. They also...

We have stayed for four nights in the Ras Michamvi Beach Resort. It's really a very beautiful place directly at the sea. The Resort is small and very quiet. A perfect place for relaxing and recovering. The Staff is very friendly. Also the food is delicous. The rooms are big and very clean. The Resort is really a secret on...

The place is located on the point, and because it's on the east side, the tide moves in and out depending on the storms, about 200 meters per day. It's like that almost everywhere on the coast, so be ready for it. Regardless, you can walk about 3 beaches down and there is a path to a super nice patch...

We stayed 5 nights at this hotel and it was just what we were looking for. In that area the tide goes from very low to very high on the same day so you can't always get into the water. But is away from the other resorts and you can really relax. If you walk 15 minutes on the beach...

Ras Michamwi was really really good for us. Yes, it takes 1 hour and 20 mins to get to it but most hotels are very far away from the airport and stonetown. I still cannot believe it is only considered a 2 star hotel. first of all, the bungalows are beautifully typical and huge, massive wood furniture in it, along...

Felt a bit cheated... The hotel was surround on 2 sides by the sea, with beaches... But the beach was not for swimming, or lazing around.. When the tide is low, things could be seen littering (or growing on?) the beach, and when the tide is high, you know you cud injure yourself.. So was there alternative entertainment? Alas, no......

I recently stayed 8 days at the Ras Michamvi. The hotel staff were beyond incredible and always willing to accommodate. They knew all the guests by name. Hotel was extremely clean and food was fantastic. I have several dietary restrictions and they were more than willing to accommodate. There was usually no power during the day but they did warn...

And you can feel it... Our aim is to cater to the modern traveler, from Kite surfer to food critic to businessman in need of a free broadband connection and everyone else who simply enjoys quality. 8 rooms with sea view and 7 are with Garden view. Relax at this quiet location, feel the tropical sun and the gentle ocean breeze on your skin, look for shooting stars amongst the thousands of sparkling dots in the sky at night, enjoy the freshest fish and seafood served at our open restaurant under a large Makutti roof, explore the stunning natural wonders of the nearby Jozani Forest-Chwaka Bay Conservation Area - in short: come to Ras Michamvi and discover the magic of Zanzibar! All of our 8 rooms have sea view and 7 rooms have garden view. They are located in 4 bungalows on a coral rock elevation overlooking the beach and the ocean. Our new and modern bungalows are built of stone and have wooden terraces, makuti-style thatched roofs, air conditioning, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, mini-fridges, en-suite bathrooms with shower, bathtub, cold and hot water. The rooms are very spacious and tastefully furnished in local style. Three bungalows have 4 rooms and one bungalow has 3 rooms only. Our restaurant is located on top of the same coral rock elevation as the bungalows - hence you can overlook the beach and sea from the round panoramic open building under a big makuti thatched roof. It is the place where you will start the day with a tropical breakfast including fresh fruits and juice, eggs and different kinds of bread. For lunch and dinner our restaurant offers local and continental dishes. There is also a selection of vegetarian dishes. You can have a romantic candle-light dinner at night and feel the true magic of this place when the moonlight reflects on the gentle waves of the Indian Ocean.
