We visited on 19th July for a summer evening dinner arriving at 7.30pm and ordered drinks. At 8pm we ordered fish and chips. At 9.15 we were still waiting and I went into bar to enquire. We had been forgotten. At 9.30 the food arrived which I can only describe as appalling for £13 each. The staff were friendly and... More

I can honestly say I have never been to a more beautiful B&B... Having never visited the area I got lost, and the owner came out and found me in the village! Bags were carried to my beautiful room (I stayed in trout) which looked out over the river. I had my own little terrace with a table and chairs... More

Grateful and surprised to find this was not too hectic a spot on a balmy but not sunny Saturday evening. So was able to enjoy their lovely garden, (with begging ducks, hilarious!) excellent food, both steak and haddock cooked to perfection, lovely presentation, and that wasn't the hunger talking!

Best bit - site and promise Cost and menu are not up to standard: former too high for portions, latter too small a menu. Specials and menu entries, even specials, wiped out as if advance ordering had failed. Cannot cope with a big function? Well that is like a shop or supermarket not serving properly or a hospital saying 'Sorry... More

Lovely country pub - the patio window opened up onto the canal which was not overlooked so lovely seeing the ducks bobbing by. A little bit of attention to detail would have made a difference between good and excellent - such as checking lamps worked before booking us in. 2 lights out that were not rectified whilst we were there... Great location with parking right on the canal at Kintbury. The place has been done up in a modern country style since I last visited a few years ago and it was a vast improvement decor wise, I have to say. The menu is good but the younger wait staff were not at all on the ball and even tried... More

We stayed at the Dundas Arms for my husband's 70th birthday, we stayed two nights, and our friends and relations booked five rooms for the night of the dinner. Olive was extremely helpful in giving us the room we liked best, even though it meant moving tables and chairs, so that we had just what we wanted. It must have... More

Great place - luxury pub with room! really comfortable bed and lovely spacious bathroom - lots of lovely little touches - fresh ground coffee in the room and fresh milk. Lovely staff & great service. Great location - walk out of the pub and along the canal and you will feel like you've escaped forever! Stunning - loved it!

Quite cosy, good food, nice garden, friendly atmosphere. Located actually on an island in the Kennet river, lots of river life around. Parking lot cab be full, additional space available just across the Kennet and Avon Canal.

I have met a friend here periodically for some years. We have a light lunch, a drink and catch up with our news. The staff are very accommodating and the tables outside particularly pleasant (weather permitting). The food has always been delicious. Look out for the generous crayfish salad!
