We live nearby and love coming to this pub especially on a long summer's evening. You can sit outside and enjoy the river and the canal on either side. Food is excellent and they have a beautiful indoor private dining room for larger functions. The smaller bar is fun too where much of the village gathers for any evening pint.

I went on a lovely August day for some lunch with my father. We both had fish finger sandwiches with fries as that was one of the only things on the menu which seemed palatable yet when they came out each was a single thin, soggy slice of bread each smothered in tartar with a few slithers of battered fish... Booked a Sunday lunch here for 6 people (including 2 children). We were seated in the lovely, light and airy restaurant. I had the pork belly which was a very generous portion and delicious. My fellow diners had the roast beef, served perfectly pink. Prices seemed very fair for the standard of food and drink and of course, the setting... More

The food was good, if not overpriced, and the drinks weren't bad. The location was superb though and the staff were good, accommodating, welcoming, and helpful. The gardens are extensive and beautiful and there is ample parking. Jamie and his partner are great, and very helpful. We would come back.

We were charged for somebody else's drinks and incorrectly charged for our drinks when the first bill was corrected. The food was good and the service pleasant and apologetic for their accounting mistakes and a rather disgusting sticky table where we were sat at when we arrived. Not sure that we would return to eat there as it was expensive

Hi thanks for your feedback Sometimes when sitting in the garden guests can get confused on what table there sitting on even though every table has a number , some guests assume the wrong table, therefore this is where the confusion came from with drinks that wasn't your tab. Once we found out that there was a problem we rectified... More

Average meal, service ok, pretentious menu with inflated prices plus forced to pay service charge, trouble was service didn't warrant it. Service at bar is OK but quite often not enough bar staff, so you end up waiting.

Thanks for your feedback, The service charge is optional that can be removed as it is a discretionary option to leave service , and the team would of been happy to remove it should they been made aware at time of payment. During busy times there maybe a little wait on the bar, as the team ensure every guest is... More

We went to the Dundas Arms for a special treat. What an awful disappointment the food was tasteless. My partner had a pulled pork in brioche bun with fries and coleslaw which was at best edible. The bun was soggy because the coleslaw was inside. The fries were a very small portion I had linguine which lacked any flavour. The... More

Thanks for your feedback, I'm sorry that you felt your visit wasn't up to your standards. When the team was doing the check back, was any of the issue raised to the team. They would have gladly swapped or replaced any of the dishes that was not upto your standards. The service charge is optional and reflects on the service... More

Thanks for your feedback, sorry that you felt the service was not up to your standards. The food should never be average quality and if my team was made aware that you was unhappy with your dishes they would of replaced it and ensured the new dishes was of the standard that you expected. More

Went here in early August staying two nights midweek. It says it is a pub with rooms so that is the context. The rooms were good and we had 5 rooms along the canal which all had terraces. They were OK. The problem is the restaurant is serving pub food at gastro pub prices with wine prices over the top.... More

Thanks for your feedback, Sorry that you felt your stay was not upto your standards. The milk is freshly put in bottles daily and delivered to rooms prior to breakfast. The location and setting is really nice and the atmosphere really pleasant. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. For a drink this place is exceptionally nice and cant be beaten. BUT the food is just dismal - as I did I read the manager reviews and they are just empty words as it doesn't get better. I hear... More
