I went on my own to Rancho Los Banos for 6 days in February and I had the most amazing time! The scenery and landscape are unlike anything I'd ever seen before... The area is truly stunning! I went on the most amazing hikes and rides. The horses are wonderful and I always felt very safe. The staff at the ranch are lovely, all the vaqueros are great, and I had such a good time with the two volunteers who were at the ranch, Nathalie and Catalina. The cabin where I stayed was really comfortable and I enjoyed home cooked Mexican food all week! It really was an unforgettable trip and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to escape city life and spend time in nature!

Words can’t do justice in describing the beauty of this landscape. Remote, rugged, and spectacular... If you have an adventuresome spirit and you’re willing to rough it just a bit - unplug and head to this very special place!

Los Banos is a great place to get away, unplug and enjoy nature. The riding is enjoyable with happy and healthy horses. The ranch is the place to go if you want peace and quiet, good food, (and plenty of it!) beautiful scenery, comfy accommodations, hiking, bouldering or simply to kick back and relax. They are excellent with their communications and make the travelling to and from the ranch easy and stress free. Everything you see on the website is accurate. One of my best vacations yet!

I can't rave enough about this trip. It was so great to disconnect. It was quiet and peaceful. I rode most every day of my stay. I wasn't a rider before my trip, but the vaqueros and the horses were patient and kind. The scenery was magnificently breathtaking. The staff were beyond accommodating. We enjoyed them so much, they welcomed us, laughed with us, let us play dominoes with them, started a bonfire for us one night, and taught us how to make tortillas on the wood-fired stove. Lluvia is an amazing cook that prepares all the meals for staff and guests. The ranch itself is very primitive, as you would expect, but the accommodations were exceptional. If you are even thinking about a trip here, no matter your experience with riding, don't give it another thought! Book it! (And I'm not being paid for all my compliments, they are truly heartfelt.) :) And for those who are wondering -- I felt safe the entire time I was in Mexico. I would definitely return!!

My husband and I wanted a ranch experience that we would never forget. We got that, and so much more!! The ranch and surrounding countryside was breathtaking. The vaqueros took us on horseback excursions that were nothing less than spectacular, and tailored to fit our level of ability. It was so nice to get away from all of our daily stresses and distractions and to be able to relax and enjoy the opportunities the ranch offered. As avid horseback riders, we focused on taking as many trail rides as we could. Each trail offered spectacular views and were just enough of a challenge to keep us on our toes. The horses were sure-footed and kind. No social media, no TV, little phone access...perfect!! Our cook was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious, and cooked entirely on a mesquite wood grill. As for the water...I have never tasted anything like it. The best!! The casita was comfortable, especially the bed. Best sleep I have ever had when away from home. We saw lots of wildlife, as well as the cattle, and the token donkey. Then there were the dogs and cats. I missed my dogs, but the dogs at the ranch filled the void. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. This was a truly memorable experience. I can't say enough nice things about the ranch and our hosts. If you want a wilderness experience comparable to life in the old west. This is it!
