Rooms are adorned with my own paintings. Beautiful gardens with labyrinth. Area for Yoga, Tai chi etc. Mini Spa.Swimming pool Excellent restaurant where you can taste some of the Yucatan cuisine. Located close to the village where you can experience Maya life as it really is.The bar awaits you for the best cocktails/margaritas in the area, as well as wine and beer. You have the luxury of Wi fi in all areas including your rooms .An artisan shop where you can buy items including locally made hammocks and snack shop if you want a small snack in-between meals. We really enjoyed our stay at The Pickled Onion. The owner Valerie made us feel welcomed and we were impressed by what she has accomplished since moving to Mexico 14 years ago. Our spacious accommodation was lovely with a king size bed and tastefully decorated with Mayan art work. We appreciated the air conditioning, the free wifi and the small refrigerator. The breakfast was served outside on the patio. It was delicious and plentiful. The restaurant menu offered a good selection of Yucatecan cuisine. Everything we ordered was flavorful and appetizing. The property and pool area was very well maintained. I would recommend this BnB to anyone who would enjoy a romantic getaway.

We have spent three nights in this incredible place. The lodge we have stayed in was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and spacious. The surrounding gardens have all kinds of flowering plants, exotic trees with little paths leading up to the pool, fitness, breakfast and restaurant area. The restaurant is of outstanding quality with great staff. We were really sad to leave but we will come back!

When we travel through this part of the Yucatan, we stay at the Flycatcher Inn almost across the road from the PO, however, we usually eat at the PO because the food is good and interesting. Recently, however, we ate at the PO and my wife and I both became ill. Any business can have an occasional stumble, but even one food related illness is too much.

Dear Allyn Sorry you were ill whilst visiting this area .... but have to say it definately was not the food from here .. It takes two to three days for e colgi to take a hold so you have to think where you ate in the last two to three days before coming here ... We are regularly checked with the health dept who take away our food and have it analyized and for 10 years there has never been any issue Also when one thinks that we have literally had between 100-125 people per day during the holiday season and this is the only one bad comment ! Really makes one think and know that you did not get your infection from here . Regards Valerie

This place receives consistently excellent reviews, and for good reason. The thatched cabins are charming and comfortable, the garden is beautifully laid out and cared for, the pool is a godsend, the food -- including the optional picnic lunch -- is of a high standard, and Valerie and her staff are consistently friendly and efficient. Valerie is also well-qualified to advise on local sites and options. Pickled Onion is a delightful and relaxing place to spend a night, or to use as a base for exploring nearby Uxmal, Kabah, the Chocolate Museum and more. We did both, and would happily do so again. Very highly recommended.

From the first bite of guacamole, my friends and I knew we made a correct decision in dining here. My chicken fajita plate was very flavorful. The tortillas were fresh. Plus the salsa verde was lovely. I would go back.
