We stayed here one night due to a cancelled flight but as the reception attempted to charge us €75 for a night I guess that is a standard room cost. So where to start after waiting what seemed like days to arrive at the hotel after a flight cancellation I was surprised that an airline had placed us in a hotel in the middle of a residential area and not in an airport hotel but hey ho a room is a room right NO NO NO. The give away should have been the entrance with the thread bare and holes in the carpet but we proceeded to check in and asked about food to be told the food had finished half an hour before which I really could not understand as 60 plus rooms had just arrived after sitting in a closed airport for hours I can not understand why as a business you would not open the kitchen or even put on a few sandwiches?? Defeated we headed to the room I was not prepared for what awaited us is a massive understatement!! The room was a throw back from the 70s Art Deco period yellow walls red curtains and green beds WOW the book shelf in the bedroom was so old it had warped and slipped so badly it is now rendered useless. While the room was a good size it had so little in it that when you spoke your voice echoed the light switches by the bed did not work the ceiling light had two of three bulbs missing there was no kettle and despite the room being advertised s a double bed this was a twin with two singles. So all of this was disappointing to say the least the icing on the cake would be the blood stained bed sheets on one of the beds, the sticky carpet and a empty mini bar the only saving grace would be the modern tv however I can not even comment if it worked as the room was so bad we did not stick around to watch the tv. Moving on to the bathroom well I’m still in amazement how a toilet and a bidet can be so close together at a 90 decree angle that you can’t sit on the toilet with out having your feet in the bidet and I thought Ryan air leg room was bad... so unless you are shorter than 5ft3” I would give the toilet a miss, for those of you lucky enough to be under the height requirement you can look forward to a broken toilet seat sitting on top of a brown stained bowl and 4 sheets of toilet paper. After you have accomplished using the toilet you may need to live on the wild side and try the bidet well good luck as you legs will be in the shower and your arm in the toilet bowl as you figure of the flow of water.. washing hands if you enjoy using used bars of soap this is the place for you I personally enjoyed cleaning the pubic hairs from my sink before using it but oh no the water doesn’t not drain so not unable to use the sink with out flooding the bathroom I headed for the shower in which you had approx 45 seconds before the anti drainage system kicks in so good luck with that. Breakfast where to start... the start really is the finish if I’m honest 1 platter plate of cheese and ham 4 yogurts and croissants for 60 guests?? While I can excuse this partly due to the late booking I kinda get the impression that really is it which I can honestly say may be the worst breakfast offering I have ever seen. Pool well this was closed and only half filled with water however you couldn’t even sit outside the only option was to sit on the front of the hotel on one of 29 broken chairs all I can say is pick wisely. Service the hotel seem short staffed as it was the same person from reception as on the bar while the staff were nice but a real customer service element was lacking. We wanted to book the advertised shuttle bus to the airport.. I booked this at breakfast then checked later to be told no must get a taxi while the hotel ordered the taxi the shuttle bus sat abandoned in the car park. English skills were poor here however the night reception was excellent he really did try and was the only member of staff I saw smile. So all in all this hotel is 2 stars at best and €60 a night overpriced.

No wi-fi. At all. No soap refill, unless you ask for it. No control over the air conditioner. Food deserving 2 stars. On first use of the bidet, the water hit my eye. And no, I wasn't try to clean my face... Avoid this place!

Stayed here for 8 days in September. The reason behind this choice is mainly location, 5 min away from my parents house. That being said, thank goodness it was only 400$ for 2 people for 8 nights. Front desk and housekeeping team were very nice and helpful. Housekeeper was a sweet lady that made me smile every morning. Ac was almost not existing, comforter had a hole in it, dirty water came out of the sink, shower was sometimes hot sometimes cold. TV was good, nice views from the room. Great pool but it was taken over by lots of screaming kids every day in the am...not the best way to wake up.

I spent five days at the Hinterland Hotel with my husband. We chose that particular one because it was the only one in Selargius and we had to stay there for work reasons. I also saw some nice images on their website (which is probably the best thing about the hotel!) and saw that they also organize conferences, which is generally a good sign. For a start, the hotel was some way short of four star standard. The room was in need of a restyling as it still had an original 1970s deco. It would have been just about ok for a three star, but definitely it did not meet a four star standard. Breakfast was among the worst breakfast offerings I have ever had. Very poor selection of food and non-existant service. Despite breakfast being supposedly until 9.30, at around 9.10 every morning the waiter started to remove that little food available from the breakfast table. Also, cornflakes were available but there was no cold milk to go with them. I had to ask repeatedly for some and eventually it came almost half an hour later, although we were almost the only customers there. The nice swimming pool that you see on the website does never seem to be avalable for the customers of the hotel. Almost every morning it is literally invaded by the kids of the local school (some 30 of them). I don't know whether hotel customers would be allowed during their swimming training, but it is definitely not the best place to relax, as it is terribly noisy. After the kids go, in come the locals. The pool is really never available to hotel customers only. If you still have the misfortune to book and stay there, make sure your room does not overlook the street. On street level there is a lap dance club (owned by the same people as the hotel) that is open until late at night and therefore very noisy. Last but not least, we parked our rented car in the hotel car park and on the very first night of our stay it got badly scratched with a key. This was probably due to the presence of the many night club customers. When we talked to the hotel management in the morning, they said they were not responsible for the car damage and that the car park was not a protected one (although it did not say so and it even had two gates thet were supposedly closed at night!). When we came back to the hotel on the same evening we caught the hotel staff putting up a very big sign saying that the car park was not supervised and that the hotel was not responsible for any damage to cars! I did not get any refund from the hotel and if it hadn't been for the nice people of the car rental company, I would have had to pay about 150 euros for the damage that was done to my cars while parked in the hotel car park! I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy - do not go there!
