CHANIA HOTEL YAKINTHOS Near city and only 50 m. from the clearest sandy beach of Agii Apostoli. Yakinthos is very good solution for those people who want to enjoy their stay away from the crowds but still very close to all sights of interest and the resort hot spots of Chania.

The front of the hotel faces the busy coastal road to expect some traffic noise, how much depends on the room you choose as there are different types and prices. A good size swimming pool with loungers and parasols is located at the back of the hotel. The hotel is made up of two buildings. Leave by the gate by the pool onto a service road and you are 2 mins walk down to a beautiful crescent bay with soft sand and shallow clear waters. You enter the hotel into a large lounge where you will find reception, an outside seating area and a small bar. Rooms in this building can be accessed by lift. The breakfast room is found in the basement of this building, but it still manages to be a pleasant light and airy space. Our room was in the second building, stair access only, and I'll base my description on this, number 217. The room was a good size, the bathroom didn't have much standing space, most of the space being taken by a very large shower cubicle, which was great, good power and plenty of hot water. A hairdryer in her wall mounted. The double bed was very comfortable, wardrobe and a number of drawers. A dressing table with mirror and a small fridge. The balcony was large enough to take a table and two chairs easily. No kettle, but you can ask at reception to loan one and cups free of charge. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard and towels and bed linen changed every two days. The one niggle we had was that there was only one plug socket, used for the TV. It was very close to the floor so not convenient to use. If you wanted to bring your own hairdryer you couldn't use it near any mirror. I'm sure if we had asked they would have supplied an extension, but we didn't think of that until we saw one in the lounge on our last day. The brekfast was very good consisting of typical Greek style, cheese and cold cuts, cold boiled eggs, hot omelette, sausage, fried eggs and bacon, cereals, fresh fruits and a selection of pastries. The orange cordial didn't look good, so didn't try. Everything else was delicious. Finally, the staff, so friendly, helpful and efficient, always ready for a friendly chat. Next to the hotel is a small shop excellent for picking up packs of water and bus tickets to get into Chania about 15 minutes away. The bus stops are very close and in the season very frequent. For bigger shops you'll find a SYNKA and a Lidl, both in easy walking distance.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and very clean, with a view towards the sea - there were buildings around, but we could still see the sea and the mountains. The pool area was beautiful and very clean with plenty of sunbeds. Literall a couple of minutes walk to beautiful beaches which slope gently into the sea. Good choice for breakfast and plenty of it, staff constantly bringing more food out. The only slight criticism is that the fresh sliced/chopped fruit wasn't covered and often had small flies around it. I'd recommend this hotel if you want a quiet break and I'd stay there again.

Family owned and run hotel. Rooms cleaned daily, to a high standard. Bathroom compact, but well fitted. Decent shower. Staff very helpful and friendly. Plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet; fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, croissants, eggs, cold meat etc. Pool a good size with plenty of sunbeds, although the water was cold, not what we expected in the Med.

Plus points • room was very clean. Staff seemed very committed. My bed was changed every 2 days... room always felt fresh and clean • air con works well. • pool was nice area to be in. Always sun beds. Pool clean and refreshing • vicinity to beach a short 3 mins walk. Amazing beaches within walking distance • many great restaurants nearby on the beach or just up the road. • bus stop outside to get to Chania.. every 15 mins • local supermarket next door but doesn't open until ,9.30 ish haha Little misses (but did not ruin holiday) • found the breakfast bit of a let down. Always the same. Eggs cold. No choice of bread and Greek make lovely breads. And considering Crete grow oranges all year round, the orange juice was wishy washy squash. Also felt layout was dangerous. You had to lean over hot toaster to get to tea and coffee urns. • vicinity to road . Vehicles going by 24 hrs a day including very loud motorbikes. But you do get used to it It is a lovely hotel even with couple of niggles.

Our second visit and it didn’t disappoint. Great family run hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, very clean, great breakfast, rooms have been recently renovated. Pool area always very quiet with lots of free sun beds and lots of shade if required. 5 mins from a great beach - my favourite Iguana Beach. Bus every 10 mins into chania town or walk in along the sea front. Amazing - we will be back

It was my first time staying at the Yakinthos Hotel and I would definitely stay again. Amazing value for money. New, clean rooms (in the 6 days I stayed they changed our linen and towels 4 times), breakfast with a satisfying variety, beautiful grounds, conveniently located very close to Chania town and with an amazing beach two minutes walk away. The staff are very friendly, smiling and helpful and will give you any information you need about the area. Five out of five from me!!!

Yakinthos deserves 5 Stars. Service, Hospitality, Friendliness, food and rooms were really great. We visited with friends in August 2023 and for all of us it was a really nice and pleasant experience. A place is in between main beaches of Creta and Chania's centre.

Zero from me, skip this hotel. It's same slept in the hotel or on the street where the hotel is located. The room we got and that whole side is so noisy that you can't sleep even with the terrace closed. This is my first night and I have 10 more to go, I won't get any sleep on vacation, that's for sure. We asked about changing the room, they said no, and they currently have free rooms on booking for rent at this moment. I don't know if the situation would have been better if we had gotten a room on the other side of the hotel, BUT if you want to rest and get some sleep, you certainly won't be here.

Dear Guest, As you show, our hotel consists of two buildings, one facing the street and the other at the back with rooms overlooking the pool and garden. All rooms, in both buildings have Floor to ceiling double glazed soundproof windows, however you couldn’t sleep and we are very sorry for that, We explained you, that your travel agency has booked the rooms with balconies facing the street. We could move you to a room at the back of the hotel, which is quiet and more expensive without to charge for the upgrade, but unfortunately, we had no availability, so we couldn't do anything to improve your sleep. Also, the rooms you saw listed on booking, com site were also with balconies like yours. With kind regards.
