We walked here across bridleways and footpaths with two dogs and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and we are both vegetarians. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are dog treats on the bar

We spent two night B&B recently, I say B&B because 1 week before we visited we received an email informing us that the restaurant didn't open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night and as we were staying Monday and Tuesday night it meant having to find alternative eating places. The establishment changed hands late last year and is to be refurbished.... More

I chose the scampi, chips ,peas and salad, and my husband had the haddock fish cakes with chips, peas and salad . The food was good on portions and was nice... More

Great atmosphere and fantastic food. Very accommodating with alternatives to the menu. Children are always welcomed and nice to see a busy village pub. Food is always served on hot plates and of a high standard, continually changing real ale is always of a good standard.

Called in for a meal without booking. Very helpful and friendly staff who found us a table. Varied menu to suit all. Childrens menu upon request. Well presented and hot meals which we all enjoyed. Not such a varied desert menu but what we chose we really enjoyed. A successful evening, thank you.

We have just been to this great pub for Sunday lunch to celebrate Father's Day. There was a freshly cooked Sunday roast. They served it as a carvery and it was lovely. The meat was well cooked, as were the vegetables, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings. The service was very friendly and we shall definitely return.

Stayed two nights in this very friendly family run b&b. The food is real home cooking and plentiful. The cooked breakfast set us up for the day and the evening meal menu was varied and well priced. Be aware they don't offer food on Tuesday's but we were offered another local place to eat. The room was comfortable and the... More

We booked for two nights B&B as were visiting River Cottage food fair. We arrived lunch time, be prepared for some pretty hairy back lanes! Lovely quiet location, proper old fashioned village pub. Accommodation was across the court yard, which meant we didn't hear any pub noise. The young bar man was pleasant and showed us where our room was.... More
