We stayed here overnight whilst visiting family in the area. The hotel building was interesting and well furnished. We booked a large room which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, though it didn't have everything that was advertised on booking. e.g. balcony, bathrobe, minibar. Well technically there was a minibar but it was empty! There was no water or tea/coffee...

A nice enough hotel, but there only appeared to be two relatively inexperienced staff on duty over our two night stay. We we pre-booked for half-board as part of our Pyrenean walking holiday. On checking in we were told the restaurant was closed but we could eat in town. Cue hasty call to the Rep to clear this up. As...

This is a belle époque hotel which must have been wonderful in the railway era, but with the railway closed it seemed to be struggling. There were only about six guests in a rather large hotel, and it had the air of past glories. I booked a suite (which turned out to be a large bedroom). It was very clean,...

An old fashioned hotel but we enjoyed our stay. Ideal location for us as I rode the Tourmalet the following day. The room was a little on the small side but had everything we needed for our 1 night stay. We ate in the hotel restaurant in the evening where we had the biggest magret de canard I've ever seen....

A little out of fashion, in a locality where there are virtually nothing. A little ugly, a small room and a bathroom with a tiny but excellent shower (which my husband particularly appreciated because it is something that is very tuned). But a price to match - 55 euros, which for France is very cheap. The breakfast was aside, 8e...

Poor location, poor service from hotel staff, waited 40 minutes for Sunday lunch to be completely ignored by staff so in the end we just got up and left, tried to get a Brandy at the bar one evening the young girl who served us could not even open the bottle...our room was not serviced 2 nights out of 6,...

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel as part of a group with Tour de France cycling tours (tdftravel.com). I thought the hotel was lovely; it has a "turn-of-the-century" feel with a big wooden staircase, antique furniture and fixtures. There was a storage area for our bikes downstairs, which was essential for us. My room was large, clean and quiet...

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Hotel De France as part of a 2 week Pyrenees cycling trip through France. The hotel itself is a little out of the town of Pierrefitte Nestalas, but this ensured a quiet 2 night stay for weary cyclists. It is also the perfect spot from which to tackle the epic climbs of...

We recently stayed at this beautiful hotel as part of Spyns Tour de France trips (Pyrenees-Paris). Our clients loved the hotel but, as a tour operator, the hotel should make a number of improvements. Starting with the positives, the hotel looks like something from turn-of-the-century New England with lots of heavy wood, fireplaces, and ornate mouldings. The rooms were very...

I stayed at this hotel while pre-tripping our 2012 Tour de France tours. The location is unbeatable for seeing Le Tour - right along the stage 16 route between Pau and Bagneres. This may be France but for me the hotel felt a lot like a New England B&B complete with heavy wood panelling, a hulking fireplace, and brass keys....
