I sayed at the Kangaroo island wilderness retreat for one night. We stayed in one of the courtyard suites which was great! The rooms had a very homely feel and were very comfortable, an even included foxtel! The bathrooms were a bit tired, but still were great none the less! I loved that there was wildlife hopping all around, which... More

Loved KI Wilderness Retreat. We stayed in one of the courtyard suites and our friends were given the room next to us. The manager and assistant manager were more than helpful. We had a problem with our air conditioner and it was addressed immediately and fixed. We asked for the interconnecting door to be unlocked and it was done immediately.... More

We took the offered upgrade when we checked in,and we were quite happy with our suite. Right off the common grounds, we had a good view of the wallabies who came to feed out front. We also then had a pleasant deck to sit on and enjoy our breakfast. The unit had an electric kettle and a small refrigerator which... More

This place gets an extra star for the amazing wildlife at your doorstep! The wallabies and possums are incredibly tame and you can even pet them (they will come up to your porch if you get a courtyard suite). The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is good, which is a relief as there is nowhere else to... More

I stayed here in early April with my daughter for one night. We stayed to be close to Flinders park, and so we didn't have to drive from one end of the island to the other at night. (We did do the nocturnal tour at Hanson Bay at night, and drove their ourselves in the rental car. I was freaking... More

We stayed here for just one night as part of our trip to KI so we could so the Day Trip to Flinders Chase National Park which I would highly recommend. We had a Courtyard Room which was great, perfect for seeing the Wallabies which come in at sunset and a very short walk to the restaurant. Staff at Check... More

We stayed in the eco lodge which was small, basic, and clean. It is expensive for what you get but there are no alternatives around that area. The big let down was the restaurant - the food was poor, especially given the prices are so high (~$35 for a main meal). I would recommend bringing your own food to cook... More

Stayed here on a cudo deal for 2 nights in a courtyard suite. Brilliant location right on the edge of flinders chase national park, so easy access to admirals arch and the remarkables. Room was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. Bed was also comfy. Lovely to sit out with a glass of wine and have the wallabies say... More

Stayed one night at the Wilderness Retreat. The room was large and comfortable if not a little dated. Dinner at the restaurant was good and handy to have considering the lack of other options. Some local wallabies can be feed in the courtyard each night and were very popular with us and other guests. We had a nice stay.

We had a dimly lit courtyard room with good clean facilities. Continental brekkie was plentiful and quiet. Dinners were very nice & not overpriced. A good choice of KI wines again at a fair price. The availability of petrol was a bonus for sightseers using KIWR as a base. Comparatively expensive but the same in all of KI. Located in... More
