Mezzo Hotel & Business is a brand new hotel and business center, close to the junction of highways E313 and E314. Accessibility and parking are not an issue. The 51 hotel rooms are all spacious 2-person rooms with free WiFi, flat screen TV and air conditioning. The atrium forms the architectural eye-catcher with the entrance, reception and lobby, which overflows into a spacious terrace at the rear. There are 33 double bed rooms with outside view, refrigerator, hotel safe, a sofa and individual ventilation. 18 Twin rooms, with an inside view of the atrium, are equipped with a spacious work desk, 2 beds (0.90M to 2.10M). The bathrooms are all equipped with a spacious shower. The business center offers businesses in addition to a spacious meeting offer (up to 100 people), also office spaces for smaller companies. The restaurant and bar will open in the course of 2015. (Room and breakfast is obviously offered from the hotel opening )

"No fringe" business hotel, that gives you exactly what you expect : impressive income hall, nice clean rooms, a breakfast with all the typical ingredients. It's a pity that the windows can not be opened, but are replace by a pump/motor that can be switched on to bring fresh air in (who invents these things ?? isn't that what a window is supposed to do ?). Be aware that there is no bar in the hotel, which is also a somewhat missed opportunity. There is a (good) restaurant in the same building, but that is not really linked to the hotel.

Response from Yannick Knockaert, Gastenservice/Front Office at Mezzo Hotel & Business

Dear Koen Thank you for taking time to make this review. We are pleased that you enjoyed our hotel. As for the windows in the room, the ventilation sucks out the dirty air and brings new fresh air. This air is healthier because the ventilation filters the fresh air.

I ate here as it was next to the hotel I was staying at and the only place to eat within good walking distance. It was however a great find. Friendly and relaxing. I had the salmon and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pleasant Business hotel near the industrial area, close to motorway. This is a combination of Hotel and business center. It was clean and the rooms were spacious with room to work. The Showers were large. A buffet breakfast was provided and it was very good. Coffee is also available in the Atrium (Free) plus there are vending machines for other snacks. There is a Good restaurant in the building, but it is not part of the Hotel, so you have yo pay separately for each meal you take there (Different to breakfast room). Outside parking is free as if the wifi(Good speed). Covered parking is available at a charge

May be not the most sophisticated hotel...however, a very convenient, efficient and very comfortable room. The breakfast is good without any thrills. The restaurant attached to the building is high end.

The hotel is ok, but I arrived in the evening on a Monday and it was impossible to get any food. The restaurant was fully booked without any space, receptionist wasn’t particularly willing to help to sort out situation as restaurant is managed independently. If you don’t have a car it is impossible to get food from anywhere else. I’ve never been to a hotel that does not provide any dinner options to its guests, especially if it’s located in the middle of nowhere. Unacceptable.

I had a meeting here so decided to stay the night before. It was easy to get to from Busssels by Public transport - train to Diest and then no. 7 bus which stopped right outside. The hotel was modern, clean with good sized rooms. The staff were attentive and very efficient. Breakfast was superb with a 'all you can eat' buffet with good quality food. Only down side was small coffee cups. The restaurant is physically part of the hotel but run separately - I found it very expensive for what was served but that was experience of food during my brief trip to Belgium. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The meeting room was excellent with tea and coffeee facilities, fridge with drink, Clickshare facility, etc.

Nice hotel but a few issues. Due to the roadworks, difficult to reach. I know this is just a temporarily issue but anyhow. Checked in after 11pm, so luckily I I had a print of the reservation or I could not check in (phone died, no battery). When I booked via one of the DOT.COMs, this was not communicated. So once inside I wanted to get a beer. So went downstairs (around midnight) put the money in the vending machine (as the rooms have a mini bar, but the mini bar is empty - only a few waters inside). After making my choice the vending machine asked for age verification? So I had to put my ID card inside the vending machine which was not possible because I do not have a Belgian ID card (I do have a Belgian passport but as i am living outside Belgium no ID card). Strange because when you look outside, hotel is fully booked and most license plates of the cars are Dutch, German or other nationalities. The people will have the same problem as they also lack the ID card... Luckily the manager, I believe his name was Koen, explained me that the hotel is struggling to get this changed by the Belgian government as they got already fines for this vending machine. Good thing is location and closed parling, even underground (extra cost but hey, your car is safe). The rooms (went twice) are clean and spacious. First time when booking via a DOT.COM only choice is 2 single beds, no king size avail. And if you are 1,91m tall, might be handy to have a big bed. So second time booked direct with the Mezzo and got the king size bed. I really hope that the road works will be over soon and they can get the license for the vending machine. Conclusion, rating should be good or very good, not average. Therefore if I am coming back and no roadworks etc, might have better review. Oh yes, before I forget. I also wrote a review about the adjoining restaurant of the Mezzo. Is part of the Mezzo but is also not part of the Mezzo. Again, if you order room service, forget it. You have to go and take out your food. So the name should be TAKE AWAY food.... And do not forget, kitchen closes at 9.30pm, so if you are hungry after 9.30pm, you´ll have to take the car and go somewhere else. I rated service as poor, but that is the general service concept. The manager Koen is very helpful and if I am coming back, that will be because of Koen. His service level is excellent.

Staff - Great and helpful Room - Large, massive window, bright, great. Nice touch was the free Tea, Coffee and biscuits. Watch out for the road works and detour. Recommended Oh and tripadvisor "get stuffed" - does that make your 200 letter requirement?

I loved this hotel. It was spacious, clean and very quiet. The breakfast was terrific too. Overall, the hotel felt like a converted office building but I really liked that feeling. The locale is the only drawback since there isn't much around for amenities but that's not a problem if you have a car. 5 stars should be 6.

Clean and new hotel. Lots of light in the rooms. Great breakfast, and access to good coffee 24hrs a day in the lobby. Also, a vending machine that sells beer and spirits, although, no bar in the place. It has an expensive restaurant, or if you have a car, you can drive to some other restaurants. Not good if you are on foot, though. No gym, either, or 24 hour service at front desk, but I still like this place and would recommend if you are in the area and have a car.
