This partly restored 12 century monastery has played an interesting and important part in French history. Its a tourist attraction in its own right - ask for a tour of the old buildings. The hosts are welcoming and helpful - nothing is too much trouble (even choose your own music). The lounge is fabulous and the bedrooms spacious with every... More

The Chateau-Monastère De La Corroirie is a former monastery of 12 century! The rooms have authentic design, with original features of the monastery. Owner, Mme de Mareuil, deeply knows and loves the place, she us very friendly, kind and always ready to tell the story of this place, the property includes a chapel consecrated in the presence of the English... I missed the entrance and went in by the field entrance. This happens to me. The advantage was to have the great entrance way ahead, and anyway, being country people, neither are car nor our feet mind a spot of damp. As we approached the drawbridge, a lot came on and we were received into this amazing piece of history.... More

Staying here felt like starring in a medieval fantasy movie. We spent one night in the larger of the two rooms available - the Seignuriale - and had made a dinner reservation in advance. The decor is amazing - extravagant and romantic but comfortable with modern en suite bathroom (bath plus shower attachment). As the chateau is off the beaten... More

A delightful stay in an ancient chateau. The owner was extremely helpful and welcoming and gave an interesting tour and talk about the history of the house and site. Breakfast ( Room Monacale ) served in our own dining area was excellent with fresh orange juice, hot croissants and delicious coffee. The en suite facilities were good and in the... More

A fantastic place to stay in the Loire Valley -so quiet and dark - brilliant for city dwellers - the room was fabulous and we met the owners cost, dog and geese - as well as hearing the history of the place and fabulous anecdotal stories from the owners who made a real effort in English, recommended a dinner option... Easy to find and an ideal location to explore such a beautiful and interesting area. We had a friendly welcome, the room was large, warm and comfortable with a spacious en suite and use of an atmospheric sitting room where we also ate breakfast and dinner as the weather for May was unusually cold and wet! Our three days stay... More

We felt that from our first contact with the owners of this hotel we were dealt with in a very unprofessional manner. We struggled to find the property and called the owner for advice, which was given in a poor 'couldn't care less' manner. On finding the property and seeing the state of the place, (supposed reception room with rotten... More

The location is beautiful, but given the price to quality ratio, I would probably not stay at this place again. Of our 3 location trip, this was the most expensive of the B&B's at 125 euros so was expecting something more special than we had had in the previous 2 B&B's. We arrived at 6pm, having spoken with the B&B... More
