Stayed 3 nights in standard room on 3rd floor of building at the rear of the resort. Note there is no lift in this 4 storey building. Older style hotel type room with balcony and sea glimpses. Comfortable, quiet, very clean. Bed soft, plenty of hot water shower, good AC. I asked for a hot water kettle.
There are various options from bungalows, family style villas and the hotel rooms. Welcoming reception staff speak English and if you notify them they can arrange a pickup from the railway station about 1.5 km away. I walked and it took about 20 minutes.
Excellent breakfast with usual Asian foods and an egg station to get omelets. The restaurant is at the front overlooking the sea and the lovely large swimming pool. Unfortunately the sunbeds were hogged by a group of German tourists.
The resort caters mostly to Thais and older Europeans. Ban Krut is quiet and safe. Beach area is cleaned daily and there is a small night market on Sunday. Otherwise there is a daily morning market by the railway station to get fruit and snacks. There are 2 7-11 convenience stores about 10 minutes walk. Hire a bicycle to get around as it's flat and easy cycling.
I really enjoyed my stay at Arcadia resort and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended

The complex was very nice. However, our hotel rooms were a bit far from the complex (about a 2-minute walk and further away from the main road). The staff were very friendly and insisted on bringing our suitcases to the room. The room was very small, but nice and sufficient. The breakfast was also very tasty and the café next door, which works with the hotel, is particularly recommended. There were plenty of good milkshakes and much more. The hotel is right on the beach. When we were there, there was a festival of lights nearby and there were a lot of people on the beach even at night. That was really nice. As we were only passing through, I don't know what else this place has to offer.

This place is right in the action - perfect location for markets , beach dining , swimming and relaxing. Right across the road from the beach you can relax and enjoy all the beach and community activities from your poolside lounge or from the restaurant and cafe tables . Our villa was next to pool with comfortable king size bed , rooms were clean and staff were great. Breakfast buffet was included and had a great variety and quality to offer

Having travelled across Asia and within Thailand for over 5 years I can honestly say I’ve never experienced someone on a front desk as rude as a member of staff was at this hotel.
Obviously, this was just one member of staff and I’m sure there may be far many more who work here and have a welcoming and friendly attitude to guests.
I was shocked that after going in and viewing two rooms and the facilities I asked the price for the night, which was quite at 2,000 baht. On Agoda it was 1,900. I queried this to the lady behind the desk.
She immediately got very defensive and patronizing and explained quite angrily that they have ‘a hotel business’ and ‘if you travel you might understand’. I understood her point but she put it forward in a very angry and rude way to me, when I simply had asked a question. I pointed out her manner was very rude and there was no apology from her at all. It was a real shame as it seemed like a nice play but sadly her rude attitude to my question really put me off the place.

We stayed for one night to break up a journey from Hua Hin to Chumphon. The room was very basic and dated, but clean. A cot was provided for our baby. Luckily we were upgraded to a superior room as we caught a glimpse of a standard room and the cot definitely wouldn’t have fitted!
The pool is brilliant - clean and well kept. A lovely children’s area with fountains too, our son really enjoyed himself.
The beach is beautiful. Hardly another person in sight! At certain times when the tide is out, some wonderful shallow areas and small waves for children to play in. We found lots of shells too!
Breakfast was disappointing. We couldn’t actually sit at our table due to the number of wasps! We pointed them out to the staff but they didn’t seem phased by them... we definitely could not sit there and eat with our one year old! Perhaps some repellent candles or sprays are needed?
Overall, fine for a stop over. Has some real potential if rooms were updated.

We stayed at the Baan Grood Arcadia for 4 nights and we wished we stayed much longer! This place is a gem! The standard of quality is surprisingly high and pleasant. Bungalows are very spacious, well furnished, very comfortable and above all, CLEAN as a whistle! The surroundings are manucured and very well maintained. The pool is perfect! Sqweaky clean! And a pristine beach is waiting for you right across the street! The breakfast are plentifull with a choice of asian and western foods. The food at the restaurant is very very good, everything we had on the menu for dinner was fresh, tasty and well presented. Seafood salad is one of the best I've had! The staff may seem a little distant but it's mostly due to the language barrier. Remember you are in southern Thailand, please don't expect everybody to be fluent in English... All in all, we'd go back in a heartbeat, as a matter of fact, we will go back!!!

This was a really agreeable place to stay on our recent cycle ride down the coast of Thailand. The rooms are set far back from the main road and there is a lovely swimming pool adjoining a well-stocked bar and cafe. The place is also close to many excellent places to eat.

Great pools and we stayed in lovely villas in front of the smaller pool. The grounds were well kept and both the evening meal and the breakfast were great. Staff at the hotel were also very friendly Will stay again On a future visit

On vacation, Ban Grood is one of the options for escaping the hustle and bustle of the sea with beautiful beaches. Delicious restaurants and beautiful cafes to take photos. There are many places to take photos in Ban Grood There is a swimming pool that you can go down to play with friends or family. It's fun too.

I don't think there is a pool but the Gulf of Thailand is only metres away. As for smoking it is not allowed in the rooms but I guess those who choose to smoke can do so as long as they are a safe distance away from others who may have to breathe in their fumes passively.
There are more places to choose from in the Bang Saphan area.
