This is a very lovely old house, but in need of some TLC. The hosts were very friendly and booked dinner at the local pub for us. The room was full of spider webs and my daughter found an abandoned sock - so wonder if it was cleaned between guests. My daughters bed was very bumpy. The breakfast was plenty,... More

My husband, our 2 kids (age 2&7) and I had been to a 4 day music festival (beautiful days) and before heading off on a bit of a road trip, needed a place to stay, have a shower and sleep. I went online and booked the Yew Tree bed and breakfast and turned up half hr later. We were met... More

We stopped with Gilly and Vern for a pit stop in between glastonbry and the wookey hole. Our first impresions were made when my partner rang up and spoke to Gilly to book the room. She was very hospitable and friendly and this continued when we met her in person, welcoming us with a tray of tea and biscuits .... More

Charming owners, however very poor hygiene standards, dirty toilets, unclean bed linen, animal hair etc etc. B&B needs severely modernising, cleanings and decorating. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Perplexed at the good reviews, don't be fooled by these.

What a lovely welcome from Vern! He welcomed us with open arms and we met his wife a little later Gilly who couldn't offer us enough of a hello! - A large home that has been in the family for generations so you will find it has lots of history and personal effects - none of your travelodge bareness here... My experience was neither as good as the rave reviews, nor as terrible as the bad. I think this is a business that has lost its way. The room was functional as a place to sleep, but as others have noted, one would not want to live with the furnishing or décor. The room itself seemed clean, but the house... More

I'm a bit perplexed that this b&b could have absolutely awful reviews and excellent reviews. There is no continuity here? We booked a night here as our son was competing at a swimming gala at Millfield School. I'll make this brief as I really don't want to spent too much time thinking about our nightmare experience. Once we arrived and... More

We stayed at Yew Tree Farm for three nights in early April this year, having pre-booked online, and we were not disappointed! It's a 400-year-old farmhouse, packed with atmosphere and artifacts, and our hosts Gilly and Vern were lovely folk. We had a clean and cosy re-decorated double-bed room with a brand new bathroom + shower and views of the... More

My husband booked two nights as we visiting various sites around Somerset. We were politely greeted and shown to our room; as the door opened, I smelt a very musty smell. After the lady had left, it was clear the room hadn't been cleaned for some time; there was dust underneath surfaces, spider's webs in the bathroom and something resembling... More

We stayed here with friends overnight while sight seeing around Somerset, the couple Gilly and Vern were very friendly, pleasant and helpful. On arrival they made us feel very welcome and made us all a lovely cup of tea, the rooms are pleasant and the beds were very comfortable. The farm is in a small quiet village, you do have... More
