Stayed for 3 days - Check in was good with cold towels and a refreshing drinks on offer, whilst we completed the check-in formalities. We were advised that we had been upgraded to a Loft Room, one of the reception staff then showed us around the hotel, and took us to the upgraded room, which was disappointing! The loft room has two floors and two small balconies, one with a hot tub, the bedroom design and layout is cluttered and cramped, stairs lead to a TV lounge (no idea why you would want to sit indoors watching TV when visiting the sunny island of Crete!). Unfortunately, my wife used the bathroom whilst we were in the room and the lock jammed, locking her inside, so maintenance had to be called to release her. by this time, we had decided that we preferred the room that we originally booked, which gave the hotel staff a problem trying to find us a new room, as they assumed, we would accept their offer of an upgrade, which seemed to fluster the staff when we declined! We were finally shown to our (Upbeat Retreat Pool View), which was all on one level with larger room space and much larger terrace with plunge pool and alfresco style bath (although the plunge pool was ice cold and the bath plug faulty and would not retain water!) also the overhead fan didn't work, maintenance were called to fix it, oh and the baggage porter arrived with the wrong bags, and was swiftly dispatched to find our bags, so all in all not a good first impression! That said, overall the hotel layout is nice with two pools, one being a quite zone, the beach is busy, but the sun beds are fine. We decided to eat out at local restaurants rather than at the hotel, mostly because the restaurants were more traditional, and also less expensive! The breakfast buffet was fine and service in the champagne bar was friendly, I was told that there was no business centre, or PC available for guest use, I needed to change my flight details, so the concierge allowed me to use his computer at his desk in reception. Spa, gym and workout areas available to those that feel inspired, but not for us! Critical feedback: In my opinion there are fundamental flaws with the room layout in terms of the design features, it strikes me that the designer went into overload to make the rooms look funky and trendy, but failed to consider some of the more practical elements that guests require when actually using the rooms! Overall a good resort, certainly way ahead when compared to general Crete hotel standards, but the design features are more novelty than practical, but I’m sure they appeal to others, just not us!

Returned for a second time and it was better than the first. Nothing is too much for them as excellent service is at the heart of what they do to make your stay memorable. The hotel is in a beautiful bay west of Chania with a spa, two outside pools and the beach as your backdrop when eating breakfast or other meals. The guest relationship team will advise and help organise specific trips and any requirements you may have. We went to Imbros Gorge recommended by the Guest relationship manager and it was perfect and so beautiful. If you want a hotel that provides an Oasis and break that will make you want to go back again, then this is the destination for you. I tried Pilates for the first time and had a one to one personal trainer and went back again and again; as well as treating myself to a massage. Chania is so close by either public transport or taxi and there is so much to see and learn about the culture and history. It is so good we will be returning again soon. If you are looking for an adult 5 star hotel that feels like a 6 star+ then this is it. Don’t take our word for it, try it and be amazed.

The hotel epitomized relaxation. They have two pool areas if you want no music just to curl up with a book or relax use the "Quiet Pool" or if you want to hear some music and walk over to the bar for a drink go to the other main pool. If you want to bypass the pool and go straight to beach you can with sunbeds and beach service. Now if the lovely pools and beaches aren't for you they have a spa onsite you can escape to. Its worth it for the ultimate pampering experience and to feel even more relaxed. The have two dining options Keen and Raw Bar if you don't to leave your room of course order in. The staff are always greeting you with a smile or asking how they can help. Personal thanks to George at the Front Desk area he was to helpful anytime we needed anything. The rooms are very comfortable and hard to leave if you just want to stay in your own personal bubble. The hotel was fabulous and I can't wait to visit it again.

My husband and I really didn’t want it to come to posting an online review, hoping the property would make adequate amends but our three nights here were just too odd not to post. Pros: We loved the fitness/wellness emphasis, particularly the outdoor training area with TRX and the housekeeping staff genuinely seem running around working very hard. The beach setup is also pretty good and views from rooms aligning ocean are beautiful. Cons: There were definitely some service incongruities as others mentioned and rooms are a bit funky layout wise/trying too hard to be hip/not accounting for likelihood of hitting your head at least once in these treehouse style suites. We came home from an amazing day in downtown Chania our second out of three nights only to walk in to a huge cockroach that crawled across my foot in our room. Ok, fine. Maybe a fluke- we are on the second floor but there’s a restaurant next door. I ran up to the lofted floor where the bed is while my husband ran around trying to catch the critter- meanwhile I ran into cockroach number two IN OUR BED. That really did me in. I ran from the room and we soon had a new room in the middle of the night which is the most we could expect (with my husband being the one to move all our bags unassisted). We were warned we’d likely have to change rooms the next day. Fine, but not ideal. So we went to meet with the concierge/manager after not sleeping a wink to figure out if we’d have to switch rooms. Waited thirty minutes to talk to a manager who largely brushed the whole thing off, saying something to the effect that the drains are newer and the cockroaches in Chania are just really big? Ok? Just didn’t expect them in my bed at this price point. Management did leave us a bottle of champagne (that they serve with breakfast) and some fruit. Mind you, we were leaving at the crack of dawn the following day with no desire to drink (the single effort to make amends). At the pool and later sushi bar for dinner there seemed to be no connection on the service end (you would think after that debacle they’d be more on top of service). No one comes around at the pool bar in general for drink orders, water etc. At one point we went back to the room to grab something midday and our room keys just stopped working and our room had been left ajar (terrifying) so back to the concierge we go to get room keys fixed. They forgot the tuna on my poke bowl at dinner. It was just one little thing after the other. We booked spa treatments right before aforementioned dinner for our last night before returning home which were just alright (very product heavy with strong emphasis on purchasing products, combined body treatment with facial which for a longer double session allows no time to convenient time to use restroom, no steam machine for facials, and the Bitoec machine was out of order). Definitely did not end our otherwise flawless Greek vacation on a high note. To top it all off, when my husband emailed Marriott customer service centrally in an attempt to just communicate this all internally, they addressed him as Ms. Kiefer in their blasé response. The devil is truly in the details.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Domes Noruz for 5 days and it was one of the best part of our 15 days Greece trip. EVERYONE at Domes Noruz were so nice! Our luggage did not arrive at the airport and the front desk employee helped call the airport to get our luggage back for us after 3 days. They also packed us a boxed lunch to go since we had an early ferry ride to Santorini in the morning- without us asking for it! The grounds, pools, beach, restaurant, brunch...were all fantastic! I also loved the live music on Tuesday evening. Most of all, again, the hotel staff deserve a bonus and raise. As beautiful as the hotel was, it was the kindness and friendliness of everyone at the hotel, from the front desk employees, wait staff, house cleaners, porters, spa staff...they are the #1 reason to go this hotel and why we cannot wait to come back again.
