Warm welcome, good rooms (higher prices for those not facing the road), breakfast outside in good weather (good choice of menus, all at a price on top of the room hire but the tariff is perfectly clear). No distance from the port and its restaurants.

One of the prettiest hotels we have stayed in in France.. Barfleur is a lovely seaside village with a working fishing harbour. The Hotel Le Conquerant was absolutely charming, a wonderful old town house with huge bedrooms, our was almost a suite in fact, antique furnishings and overlooking a beautiful garden where we had breakfast. Very good seafood restaurants, lovely... More

We stayed for one night during a visit to Barfleur. We had a room overlooking the garden which was very peaceful and quiet considering how busy the town is during the summer. The room itself was pleasant but basic. As an example the toiletries supplied were, I suspect, the cheapest available and given the price of the room a little... More

We stopped here for just one night on our return journey from Brittany to the ferry out of Cherbourg. Located very near to the harbour, where there are plenty of good seafood restaurants from which to choose (no restaurant in the hotel). Warm welcome from the proprietors and quickly shown to our garden view room, which was spacious, comfortable and... More

My wife and I were headed to this area to see the lighthouse and I found this hotel on Google maps. It showed nothing but 4 star reviews so we decided to try it. We got there at 10 after 9 and were greeted by the English speaking hotelier. She was very friendly and accommodating. The room was up some... More

It's hard to believe, but it is five years since I last wrote a review of Le Conquerant and the good news is that nothing has really changed. The characterful little port is as picturesque as ever and the fishing fleet is spic and span. The hotel is the fine building that it always was and it is set off... More

Hotel is on the street a very brief walk away from the main harbour, on which you will find many good restaurants, obviously sea food being very popular. Was warmly greeted on arrival and shown to very clean room. Owner gave good information about the area. Breakfast was very pleasant croissant served up with home-made preserves. Would stay again.

We have stayed here several times - it is always a treat to look forward to. The welcome is warm and the rooms are comfortable. We love breakfast in the elegant garden on sunny mornings. Everything about this hotel is professional and well-done. The sympathetic owner even made me tissanes of herbs from the garden when I turned up with... More

Loved the handy location, the friendly owners, the creative touches around the place, the pretty breakfast/tea room, the lovely garden with patio for a drink or breakfast in the sunshine... The bedroom was grand and the en suite was good. We enjoyed our two nights, bought a bottle of Calvados from the local products on offer in the breakfast room,... More

The owners here should not be in the hotel business at all. The whole place feels as if it is set up for the convenience of the management and the guests are a nuisance. Booking a room felt like they were doing you a favour rather than valuing your custom. If you book by phone you must confirm by email,but... More

We understand the disappointment of Redgate. But we are not sure at all that this event took place in our hotel : all our guests in April or May had a confirmed reservation and of course a bedroom. So we ask Redgate to confirm exactly where it happened. We asked for an help from Tripadvisor ; we received only this... More
