The over-all experience was a pleasure given the restrictions/protocols still in place. The room we had was spacious, water pressure was very good and hot water aplenty. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly, without overly ingratiating. The view was superb anywhere you look. A pity the spa was not yet operational during our stay. It would also help if the resort boost WiFi connectivity, a big plus for kids, ours at least. A more extensive menu and coffee selections would be most welcome. The steps up and down the resort were not a problem for me, loved doing cardio even on vacation.

We booked 2 rooms for a 3D2N stay and the resort was always in touch leading to our stay, especially regarding the boat transfer and our pre-order meals. The 2 hour boat trip to the resort was thankfully uneventful with the calm sea, and we are already in awe of the picturesque scenery along the way.

There was a hiccup on which rooms we were going to stay, giving us 2 different room keys. One room had a broken AC and the cable only had 1 channel, so I requested to transfer to a new room, which the resort swiftly did. The room I was staying in had a leaky toilet valve, which was not fixed even after the maintenance guy came to look at it and never returned as he promised to replace the valve.

Besides the leak, the rest of the resort looks great. There are a lot of opportunities for great pictures: the infinity pool overlooking the bay, viewdeck behind the restaurant, the stairs leading to the beachfront, and the beach itself! We found a number of geckos/lizards roaming the beach and "relaxing" by the pool - adding to the authentic natural atmosphere. However, there were few trash that weren't thrown properly.

For the activities, we went for island hopping and that alone made our stay worth it. Due to inclement weather, we started late and we decided to forego the 3rd and last island to return to the resort to have lunch. We also went to the games room to play billiards, chess, darts and giant Jenga. However, the game room was too hot and we can't play there for long.

For the food, it was excellent. We ordered several dishes like pork sisig, pork sinigang, fish sinigang, beef pares, fried chicken, bicol express, crabs. and more! We loved them all, except for the beef pares which was a bit tough.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Tugawe, and we would love to come back. Hopefully, the minor issues we encountered with our rooms will be addressed. I highly recommend the resort for anyone looking for a scenic and comfortable stay in Bicol without being too pricey. Bicol has so much to offer with its natural beauty and this resort will help boost its popularity.

The entire airport and boat transfer was smooth, and the welcome that we received upon arrival was very warm!

Facilities were surprisingly well maintained for a 9 year place, and all the staff were friendly that it made us feel safe.

Special kudos to our butler Allen, for her diligence and attentiveness and we really felt at ease with her.

Island hopping was amazing too, and the experience of having a picnic by the lighthouse was a first for us.

Continue the good job both in service and cleanliness! Looking forward to return again next time.

standard caveat: my experience during my first visit (2015) was excellent. i can't say the same for my second (2021 time of covid) visit

stayed at hilltop room for 3D2N.

awesome:
impeccable, swift, friendly and polite staff
breathtaking views
nature landscape
love the comfy bed comforter and pillows
toiletries
very smooth logistics and transport system
cleanliness of common areas
refillable alcohol and complimentary water
aircon really cold
really trained bankeros for island hopping (navigated rough seas well!)

needs improvement:
updating dilapidated room furnitures and bathroom fixtures
no towels, foot rug and tissue upon arrival
bathroom and utensils cleanliness (the cr was dirty when we arrived and the saucers had stains)
non-existent cable and wifi
not pwd/senior friendly: tram should always be working.
food is hit or miss; portioning is small; pricey for the quality you get; menu/cook needs revamp

spicy crab: yummy but small portion
dinakdakan: grilled meat swam in mayo. no no no.
tinola: delicious but only had 1/4 chicken
sinantol: the best!
pinangat:ok
bicol express: so so
mixed squid/bbq: bbq good; squid was small and bland
pork belly express: unrecognizable with all the garnishing;forgettable taste
maja:yuck!
homemade ice cream (banana) good but hated the overflowing sprinkles;
homemade mango: so so
fiesta float: too much sprinkles! gross looking
fruit salad: ok
leche flan: ok
buko salad: ok but buko strands were too firm
spicy longganiza: very good!
adobo flakes: no adobo taste. tasted like fried chicken flakes
lukban longganiza: ok

Our stay in Tugawe was disappointing.. the Hilltop room that costs around 10k per night has a broken door lock, has molds on the wall, has a squeaky cr door, has dusty and moldy cabinets. The food is overpriced esp the Day’s Harvest Salad. The breakfast was served after 1.5 hours of waiting despite the reservation made on the night before. The entire boat ride is unreasonably long (2 hours). Are there any other ports nearer aside from Talisay port? Also upon check out, we were told to be ready at 10am for the boat ride. But the boat arrive at 12:30 nn. What even annoyed us is that no one is answering us properly as to how long we are gonna wait or how are they handling the situation.

The whole trip and stay at Tugawe was near perfect!

We availed of the roundtrip land and boat transfers. We had the van all to ourselves from Robinsons Naga to Talisay Port. We shared the boat ride from Talisay Port to Tugawe with a wonderful family of 10. The sea was rough and it was raining but we were graced with a wonderful and sunny weather during the rest of our stay.

We got the Hilltop Casita/Cabana Room. The room was very spacious, not in its pristine state but still acceptable and classy. It has a mini fridge (we just discovered it during our second day) and coffee and tea making facilities. The advantage of getting that room is that it's near the resort resto and you can still get 'intermittent' wifi signal from the resto itself. Although, we had a hard time locking the room during our first day. If you're a couple, the Hilltop Cabana Room is great choice since it has a rooftop with reclining chairs where you can stargaze while talking about the mysteries of love and life.

Cecilia's, the resort restaurant, sits on top of a hill. It gives you a very calming vibe that your dining in one with nature. They serve tasty and delicious but quite expensive dishes. Price ranges from 350-700 php, good for 2 persons. Nevertheless, just like everything in Tugawe, you always get what you paid for. Tip: have your breakfast in the veranda overlooking the sea. 👌

The beach is picturesque especially when its sunny and in the afternoon. You can kayak and paddleboard for free. I heard that you could do snorkeling too.

The resort boasts two infinity pool, both of them picturesque and well maintained but I think what they lack were catchy pool lights at night.

A trek to the Lighthouse before the sunset completed our trip. It boasts a scenery that could be compared to Batanes.

After our 3D2N stay, all I can think about is the day that I could go back at Tugawe to rest and relax.

Thank you!

P.S. Kudos to the staff for always being ready to offer free anti seasickness meds!

We stayed at the lakeside villa and it was amazing to wake up to the view of the lake and be a stone's throw away from the beach. We went during off-season which was amazing as there were so few guests it felt like we had the place all to ourselves. Our bulter was Renz who was so hardworking and intuitive, he did things for us without us even having to ask (he brought a wine bottle opener and beach towels for us during island hopping, which we forgot to bring for ourselves). Request for him if you can! He'll take all your pictures and never once complained.

Favorite activity was the picnic at the lighthouse, which offered a 360 degree uninterrupted view of the sea and mountains. Very romantic, instagrammable set-up with packed yummy snacks.

The place is great! Everything looks good. It feels like you are one with nature. Another good thing is the room. It is big, spacious, the beds are soft, the room is clean, and fully furnished. No complaints there. As per my title, it would be great for those who want a staycation, who will spend more in the room and just want to be with nature. But if you are more into the swimming experience, 2D1N here is not enough. No time for island hopping. Too much time will be spent going up and down the hill if your room is hilltop. The beach is clean but in the morning, it feels like there are insects biting you. The pools were cleaned late. Would've appreciate it if they are cleaned at 6AM so those who needs to check out at 10 can still enjoy the pool. The food was okay. Definitely not restaurant quality. Overpriced in our opinion. The signal in Tugawe was bad. It would've been ok for us if this was disclosed prior. But the sales manager said that Globe signal is good in Tugawe. They have wifi in the resto but is not really working. My 3G mobile data is even better. The service was meh, especially in the restaurant. It is almost like they don't want to entertain us. We expected better and more accommodating service from the staff given that this is a luxurious vacation destination.

My last minute decision to leave Manila and choose Naga was hit by a tropical depression. It was cold and raining for days. It was a long haul to reach Carramoan. 5 hrs atleast by private van. It is very expensive to hire a private van 7-10,000 one way so best to bring a group and divide the cost. Got stuck in town and coast guards never allowed us to sail. My 1st day in Tugawe was rain all day but I got the best cabana in the whole resort., clean, comfortable, nice interior and a few steps to the beach. The whole resort is huge, high maintenace, looks old in actual. They have a restaurant on top of the hill, not really advisable for old people due to the long staircase. Ask where your room is located and the young ones can stay up hill. They serve food to your cabana and make sure you pre order atleast 2hrs before. The menu is quite small, hotel price and limited so dont expect gourmet food. Its simple.Stick with local specialties. Each canbana has outdoor table and chairs so its more convenient to dine there than going up and down the stairs.
There is really nothing to do if the weather is bad, you cant sail and cant really enjoy the beach. You can go for a few hrs to the lighthouse or play pool. The best time accrdg to the locals is to go on March or April and explore the isalnds of Carramoan. The beach gets dirty during bad weather and I can see how the staff are having a hard time to clean up.
Tugawe cove is beautiful with 2 swimming/infinity pools and they have their own boat and van services from Naga City at a reasonable price of 2,000/ person .
The staff are very friendly and they will help you the best they can. When you need something, just call. When you go to Carramoan make sure that you allot 2 days for travel and the best is to stay overnight in Naga then travel to Carrramoan early morning. You need atleast 5 days not less than that. You will be very tired and exhausted after the 5 hrs on the road. Check your map and flights from Virac also to the resort to cut your road trip. I surely would love to come back and explore at the right time !

I am writing this review to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the stay I recently had at Tugawe resort and the fact that promises are not kept.
We were supposed to stay 6 nights at this 4 star resort. Prices were high, but everything looked well online.
From the moment I arrived, I was met with a series of problems and issues that made us complaint within 24hours after arriving.

First, the resort looks unmaintained and there were loos and broken tiles all over the pools and resort.
The room was old and had leakages and leakage stains. Mirrors were old, fosset was loose and the bidet was leaking, even the outside slidedoor glass was broken. Doors didn’t open or lock properly or didn’t close at all.

Furthermore, the SAT TV didn’t work while it was raining, there were several brown outs and there was no WiFi in the rooms or at the restaurant.

Food served in the resort restaurant was often undercooked and very small in portion.
There were broken tiles and leakages at the restaurant which made the floor slippery and causes dangerous situations for our 2 years old daughter.

The staff seemed helpful in addressing our complaints, and the resort manager agreed with the bad state of the resort and assured us a full refund as requested.
We were not able to leave asap due to the boat fare, we had to stay a second night.

The resort manager promised us a full refund for our stay, but to date, we have yet to receive any response or acknowledgement from the resort.
Promises are not kept which feels unfair and misleading. It also causes a fair amount of stress because it’s about a large amount of money.

I would not recommend Tugawe Resort to anyone. It is clear that the management at Tugawe Resort does not care about their guests and is not interested in providing a good experience.
