Went there for my boyfriend's birthday celebration. What a great mini getaway. Service is excellent. I've got a room with a balcony facing the water. The best part is the rooftop bar. It's a must especially on a good weather. Sunbathing with great view is very relaxing. The stillery bar has great cocktail, try 'cross st'. It's a cocktail with pandan in it. The area is surrounded by cafe and restaurants so brunch and dinner are all enjoyable.

Two very comfy queen beds meant my daughter and I could be accommodated comfortably with room to share.Room had a small balcony with table and chairs- upper floors look out to harbor views and the sunset - also loved having champagne on the roof by the pool and watching the Sydney ferries glide over the water day and night. Service was good friendly and very helpful. Coffee machine in room a plus with great selection of teas as well. Close to CBD and straight out the door to interesting shopping. All in all I had a very satisfying stay - lovely catch up with my daughter who was in Sydney on business.

After staying at the Intercontinental in Sydney and Melbourne, I was a bit disappointed with the overall experience. The room was very clean and tidy fresh looking and modern. The view over the harbour from the pool on the top floor was spectacular. The settings were comfortable with group cabanas and pool side bar and staff very friendly and attentive. We paid the extra for club level but the club lounge was hidden away on the 2nd floor looking over the courtyard (not much to look at and in the evening there was no lighting to show off the gardens), the staff were disorganised and may have been new- the food wasn't available when we arrived at 5.30 pm (club opened at 5pm) and our canapés were 2 steamed buns with the paper still attached to the bottom which I could have got at

Dear Lyn_traveller13, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback following your recent stay with us at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay. I was disappointed to note that your recent stay with us was less than memorable. We are concerned to hear about the service issues you raised in our Club Lounge. What a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Exceptionally clean, great room with all the mod cons, great bathroom with walkin shower and separate toilet (toilet in the bathroom but has its own door. Hotel staff were very very friendly from the moment we pulled up at the hotel. Every staff member if they saw you around always said hello. Great bar Stillery well priced, we had breakfast in the stockroom and it was very enjoyable. The executive club was fantastic and the service exceptional. We celebrated our 28th anniversary and we were surprised with champagne and chocolates and a beautiful hand written card. Great restaurants, cafes, shopping right at the front door. Highly recommend intercontinental.

I asked for a quiet room and thats just what I got. Spacious with a king bed, couch and table and chairs. A well stocked mini bar and a balcony with pretty views of the rooftops of Double Bay and glimpses of the harbour. The in room dining was exceptional as was the High Tea served with a glass of Champagne. Toiletries were above par and service from all staff exemplary. Right in the middle of bustling double bay which is brimming with boutique stores and too many choices of cafes and restaurants. Met all my needs and I will be sure to return next time I need a last minute break from the stresses of The Real World.

I love this hotel, it is relaxed, swish and feels unrushed. My stay was improved with an upgrade to a suite, although I did book the Club package. The Club was brilliant, canapes and drinks between 5 - 7 p.m., fantastic breakfast and a high tea to die for... The surrounding area is full of interesting shops and galleries, the ferry pulls into the cove only a 5 minute walk away, the train service is a 5 minute walk away.

Great location and very relaxing. Service was amazing. There was nothing that was too much trouble. Would definitely stay there again as it was a lovely part of the city. The view from the pool was amazing and we were made to feel extremely welcome. It was probably the best service I have had at a hotel.

Ok! So its a great location with relaxed atmosphere and a quality finish. Just needs the staff to step up to the expectations of the surroundings. More attention to detail on the little things and a warm smile would go a long way to make this one of the best places to stay in Sydney. The staff are cold and prickly but efficient.I have stayed four times this year and it is still the same! Not sure if I will return????

The hotel was fine BUT - and a very big BUT - the rooms (apart from the very expensive suites) have only 1 TINY cupboard, half of which is hanging space and the bottom half consists of 3 VERY small drawers. We arrived from the UK with a fair amount of luggage which we had brought for our 3 week stay in Oz, but there was no way we could accommodate this in our King room (1 below a suite). All the hotel would do - apart from offering us a (reduced) paid for upgrade - was to take out furniture, and bring in a clothes rail and chest of drawers. Our room was a complete mess as we had to partly use these and live out of suitcases dotted around the room. Our advice - do not consider this hotel if you have more than a minimum amount of luggage.

A newly renovated hotel + a quiet bayside town + lots of boutique shops = my new favourite!! Loved the settings and furnitures in the hotel..extremely modern and well designed. Staffs are very professional. Had breaky and dinner downstairs - breakfast is standard intercontinental breakfast setting which usually does not have lots of varieties but the quality was great. Dinner was brilliant ! Service was top class! The surroundings are another Plus.. great shopping district if you are into boutiques that cannot found in many other places in Australia. Also, ferry to the city is only 5 min away!
