Having stayed here a couple of times, I always look forward to returning, even if it's a little overpriced given its location.
Unfortunately, my last visit wasn't great. I stopped to drop my bags off on the way to a lunch, but the concierge was on his mobile sitting on a chair in the foyer, so I had no option but to take my bags upstairs to reception. In the interim, someone else from the hotel rudely told my taxi driver, with my wife sitting in the back, to get out of the driveway. On going around the block and returning to collect me, they had parked a car in the driveway, blocking it and left to do something else. Not the end of the world, but not a great start.
The hotel called me when our room was ready, but on returning that evening, the bathroom had not been well cleaned and everything felt a bit tired.
If you need to be near Double Bay, the location is good, but lots of better options around Sydney.

Went for a birthday. Looked after us well. Although didn't call when the room was ready after checking in early. Had to call back to chase up the room.

This is a gem of a hotel. The staff starting with Kushbu and Eric were most attentive. The location -- a suburb, one might say of Sydney -- was a delight. We had opportunity to enjoy the hotel and the environs immensely, and used the trains, buses, and simple walks to enjoy some of what Sydney had to offer.
"The Stillery" is a gem -- and the meals were delicious. And a shout-out to the Club Intercontinental Team for their hospitality.

We had a one night stay but wished we were staying longer. Our room was comfortable with a terrace and a harbour view. The Club lounge was a bonus and made check-in and out easy. We enjoyed afternoon tea and breakfast in the lounge and service was excellent and the staff there make an extra effort to look after you. They were all very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The Double Bay area is a good location, close to shops, restaurants and the city. The Intercontinental at Double Bay is a perfect destination.

Lovely hotel, quick and easy check in. Room was comfortable. Good, quiet location, close to ferry and great restaurants. Didn't eat breakfast there as I chose a nearby cafe which was cheaper. Hope to come back.

This is a lovely hotel which has been very nicely renovated. Our room was comfortable and we had a nice patio where we enjoyed the morning sun. However, the bathroom scales didn't work and the digital clock said October instead of July!! Strangely there seemed to be very few guests. We had club access which we enjoyed although it was nearly empty - the service was lacklustre, to say the least. So different to the other 5 star hotels we have stayed at in Sydney. Beware rooms on the second floor if there is a function as they are very noisy. Reception staff and concierge very friendly and helpful. Lunch at the Stockroom restaurant was excellent, although again there were only 3 tables occupied!

The staff went out of their way to make the night before and the day of my daughters wedding special. Nothing was too much to ask. After we left for the wedding the room was cleaned (like no one had been there) for my daughter and her new husband to return to. We really appreciate their efforts and would recommended them to anyone. It was also a beautiful place to take photos.

Yes, There are 2 InterContinental's the city and Double bay at both Hotels they allow you to store baggage until room is available.
