My partner and I stayed at St Andrews escape as part of a cycle trip we did of Hawkes bay. It is an outstanding property with every guests need anticipated and provided for. The peaceful and immaculate garden was a highlight and for these two weary travellers relaxing in the outdoor spa watching the daylight fade was a wonderful experience.... More

We stayed here for 1 night, but would have loved to stay longer! The accommodation was very comfortable and stylish, the gardens beautiful, and the facilities excellent - particularly the guest lounge and hot tub! John was very welcoming and made sure we had a lovely stay.

As soon as you enter the property you can't help but relax, the gardens, the guest lounge overlooking the water, the fireside by the terrace it all just tempts you to sit and enjoy. We stayed 2 nights in the Te Whare cottage which was perfect for us as it was self catering and had the added bonus of a... More

The 3 night trip was a break from the city for my wife and me. Our room was clean and comfortable and fitted to high standard (like everything else); we slept well. The guest sitting lounge was beautifully designed and fitted out; a fine breakfast was served there. We were free to enjoy walking around the delightful well designed property... More

We knew this was special as we drove down the long drive surrounded by beautiful gardens and the orchard. We had the retro room. Fitted out in retro style but with everything you need. As we had been cycling we made good use of the spa pool. The breakfasts were superb, as was the helpfulness of the host John. On... More

Our three night stay, while attending a wedding, was far too short; we most definitely need to return to this beautiful Havelock North escape. The entire experience was perfect including the restful location but merely a stones throw to the village, beautifully outfitted rooms with comfortable beds, the guests lodge where a delicious breakfast was served with all homemade produce,... It would be really difficult to come up with any criticism of this truly delightful place. The garden setting is absolutely lovely and the purpose built accommodation very well designed and thought through. John is an excellent host who thinks of everything from the port available for a late night snifter to the delicious breakfast inclusive of fresh breads and... More

Plenty of places will claim they can take you away from it all and offer complete peace and relaxation. St Andrews Escape is the one that completely delivers what it promises. Just a handful of guests are entertained amid marvellous tranquility on a large estate with vineyards and orchards (pick your own peaches from the trees) that sweep down to... More

The owners of this wonderful property have found a way to bring a little Europe to Hawkes Bay. Walking through the gardens is like walking through a house of many rooms, each one separate and private from another. The rose garden with outdoor bath, or the garden with spa and outdoor shower and many others. The hospitality shown by the... More

I do like to hear that guests have enjoyed the outdoor fire at night. It is a lovely spot - and we have so much firewood! I'd love to host you both again - any season. More
