My wife and I enoyed a superb weekend at Havelock House. It certainly exceeded our expectations. The weather played it's part and allowed us to enjoy early mornings outside in the lovely gardens. Our accomodation was very clean and well presented and the whole stay was topped off by super hosts Diane and Jeff. We will certainly be back. Margaret & Russell

We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay here last weekend - and you had good weather - spring is here - and our garden starts to look its best, particularly the roses, and the blossom on the fruit trees! Thank you for your kind comments about your stay and we hope to see you back here another time Kind Regards Diana & Jeff

Diana is a super host - with a very friendly, warm persona. She is very knowledgeable of her local area and her recommendations for dining and sightseeing were very spot on. There was also a lot of reference material / guides-maps available on hand which was very appreciated. Our room was clean and tastefully decorated and warm with the heating on; the beds were very comfortable (firm but I like that) and included lovely linen & comfortable pillows. The stay was for 2 nights and the breakfast dining was most enjoyable. Due to a personal food allergy, she also went out of her way to cater to specific needs and this meant a lot. Thank you again Diana & Jeff.

What a lovely place to stay. Diana and Jeff are lovely hosts who gave us a warm welcome and some helpful advice on places to visit and places to eat. Diana also serves a very good breakfast. The property has a bit of character and is set in beautiful gardens. It's a short, picturesque and traffic free drive into the village which has a good range of reasonably priced restaurants and a great bakery. Co-incidentally, we were there during the Napier Art Deco festival which gave some added interest to our visit. Overall, Havelock House is a great place to stay, and being slightly off the beaten track it makes for a very relaxing environment.

A lot of people haven't heard of Havelock North particularly if they are traveling from overseas - once people get to know it they come back again and again - it is a destination in its own right - the centre of the apple research industry - varieties like Jazz and Rockit were developed here; top wineries Craggy range, Black Barn and Te Mata plus lots more close by on the famous Gimlet gravels; Te Mata peak is an 8 minute drive with all its Maori connections and great walking trails Napier and all its Art Deco heritage is an easy drive from here ( 25 minutes) and also the Gannet overland trip (20 minutes) I am always happy to help with itinerary planning - and now have a good knowledge both north & south of here; we are in a great location - quiet yet close to Havelock North village( now population 17,000) so it has all the facilities you would expect - easy free parking, lots of reasonably priced places to eat, excellent Deli / supermarket etc If you enjoy seeing New Zealand birds & hearing bird song ,also watching the stars - we have it all here! Thank you for taking the time to post a review - we do appreciate it and its good for others to read before they come and stay Thank you again Kind Regards Diana & Jeff

Jeff & I really pleased you enjoyed your stay here - always happy to help with wine tours / winery restaurant and other restaurant reservations -there is plenty of choice in Havelock North - over 20 restaurants / & 10 coffee shops= 14 womens clothes shops! A wide choice of wineries and 3/4 winery restaurants close by including Black Barn, Craggy Range & Red Barrel; sometimes guests think they need to stay in Napier, and easy 25 minute drive, but we are closer to the top wineries, excellent places to eat, Te Mata Peak - with a wide choice of walking trails, nature walks from the house; overall Havelock North has so much to offer! Thank you for choosing Havelock House for your stay Kind Regards Diana

We have visited Havelock House twice, in 2017 and 2019, and found the hosts and the accommodation first class in every respect. The rooms available are terrific and the breakfasts most enjoyable. Jeff and Diana will give you a warm welcome and are a most engaging couple, providing lots of advice about things to do and places to see in Hawkes Bay. We have found Havelock House a home-from-home, family friendly place to stay and would return in a heartbeat. We can confirm that high summer in Hawkes Bay at Havelock House is truly irrestistible.
